Any quicker and at least -someone- is going to say "too fast can't read everything", and I say that from prior experience. Either way, someone is going to complain, and TBH I'd rather accommodate the folks who don't wanna watch it through twice than I would the folks who don't wanna watch it through once.

I mean, it's 120 seconds, and if that's too long for someone to watch I'm not gonna get mad, but I'm not gonna redo it for them, either. I already know firsthand that someone's gonna complain either way, and the "tl dr" complaints aren't the ones I'd rather appease.

You know, for someone to get the joke and it's relevance, they would have already played mabi and rebirthed at least once. It's the same as an inside joke.

I think speeding up the meeting with Nao and the punchline (conclusion) would make it a better gif and funnier at the same time. I was getting bored/irritated at how slow it was moving and by the time it got to the elven guards, I got the joke 20 seconds before the actual punchline was announced.

Seriously, the creator of anything usually assumes that people have the patience to view their work because they put so much more time and effort into making it but in reality, that isn't the case. At this day and age especially since we take convenience and speed for granted that many of us don't have that kind of patience anymore. It's like how it can take weeks to create a painting but most viewers won't even bother with two minutes of looking at it. The only redeeming factor is that cumulatively, maybe you'll have enough viewers that spent enough time on looking at your creation that surpasses the creation process.

You just have to put these things in perspective even if it means overgeneralizing your audience as impatient people.

Oh gawd no. People have horrible attention spans. I timed it slightly on the slow side because I make lots of these kinda things, and the one thing I -know- will draw complaints is to assume the stuff you just mentioned and pace it accordingly.

It's a GIF, so people can't pause it to reread something, and if something distracts them they can't rewind to the panel they missed. Whatever pace I give it, someone isn't gonna like it, so I can't expect to please everyone in that regard. I've had far more people ask me -not- to assume they can read at a human pace and/or gather what's going on as they go. Invariably someone ends up watching the whole thing through again just to catch some odd bit of text. And TBH that seems like a more legitimate reason to try not to waste their time.

If you were waiting for a "punchline", then I don't think speeding it up would've helped anyway TBH. I mean this's gotta be like the first kinda thing anybody thinks about when they see the age-numbers Mabi uses. If you thought you were supposed to burst out laughing after I finished "telling the joke", it would've wasted your time regardless. I mean this isn't a "story" for people to laugh at the end; if anything it's for user-home-page smarminess on websites & stuff. The intention here is that people -will- see it coming from a mile away but it'll still make them smile.

In any case, it's 120 seconds. Not everybody's gonna wanna spend that much time, but if they spend it anyway then I'm not gonna feel particularly guilty about it being 120 instead of 60.

It's a lot harder to stay alive. Oh gosh, is it -ever-. But I actually find that kinda fun somehow.

I'm still only fighting the tiny trash-mobs, sewer rats near Corneria and such. Except now I've made myself -smaller- than the rats. In Kayia's case I'm almost -literally- smaller. I had 36 HP last night and if they lived through Lightning Bolt, which they did, I took 30~33 damage from one combo. It was awesome. <3

I dunno -why- that's awesome, but it is. =3

Well the main problem is that you'll have to wait a long time before you can rebirth again for free once you've reached level 100. I just hope it doesn't make you quite then :S

On the low HP, there use to be a low HP build people used. They were doing Hard mode dungeons with 10-20 HP. Not sure how many still does that though. I'm more for the tank build, so I wear heavy armor (elves can't use that though) and have mana shield on most of the time in dungeons.
