What is better the Raedon or the 660 GTX?
Made some changes to this build:
Replaced WD Black 1TB 7200RPM with
WD Blue 500GB 7200RPM
Replaced CoolerMaster 700w with CoolerMaster 550w
Added Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit $99.99
Added Samsung B300 Series 23" LED Monitor $149.99
New total cost (including discounts/etc): $971.92
So still within your budget of $1k, but including everything now :)
If 500GB might not be enough, 1TB is $109.99 while 750GB is $84.99
Edit: Aw fuck. Forgot the case -_-
So what build should I go for Evaris' or Sapphireoath's?
What is a good desktop case but not too expensive?
Oh noes, Vulpes the AMD fan from MWO invaded Mabination! D:

Well, seeing as I forgot to add case cost, mine would end up going over $1k, but not by much.
I would try changing a few more things, but newegg won't load :P
Evaris' first suggested build isn't actually including monitor cost, but it pretty much includes everything else. Her first build is almost the same price as mine, I just forgot the case. Should let someone else decide, or we'll probably end up just saying "mine, mine!" xD Though it does seem some parts of Evaris' build are better, but other parts are better in mine...(such as the CoolerMaster PSU in mine, I didn't actually know they weren't that great with power supplies).
Combine the best of all builds :) (and I'd rather someone who knows more than I ever would, to help with that :P)
Edit: "Her first build is the same price..." except I forgot the case, and Evaris didn't include monitor. So yeah...
Its going to suck when you put in the processor
Err, what do you mean? An AMD FX-4120 is about 75% as fast as a stock SB i5 in pure compute power. (performance of course varies on the application)
Insertion into zero-force sockets are much the same, whether LGA or PGA, though you have to generally be more careful handling a PGA chip, it's not that bad.
Unless you mean sucking electricity, which it will.
I mean the crunching sound when you put the bar down. I nearly shit myself when I heard that.
