For the moment, my giant has a ego Battle Hammer with level 2 Int, level 3 social and level 1 everything else (Fail right?). I've decided to get rid of it and change my ego. Now, I've researched this topic a lot and my 3 choices are: Ego Black Battle Hammer (Yes, I killed it possibly for this, but the stats weren't that high in the first place! Don't criticize me D:), Ego Iron Mace, or one of the 2handed Swords with a shield.
Now then, Battle Hammers have their Full Swing usage, capable of doing 10ks with it, along with having 196? max and 50% crit. That crit will help if I wanted to Smash stuff and what not, plus the stun time also helps, allowing me a bit extra time to pot, and what not.
The Iron Mace ego has a max of 201 (Exactly why does a 1h ego have such high max, even for a giant, is beyond me....). If I combined it with another Iron mace, or a Warhammer, I'll have a much stronger windmill, better N+ damage, but a slight weaker smash. It would also be helpful for some PvP usage, as I could charge+weapon switch+N+1, then wm. I could also use it with a shield as well, so that outclasses the 2hand sword with shield....BUT!
A 2handed sword( Not neccessarily the Two-Handed Sword) with a Shield would allow my character to be Offense and Defensive at the same time (A note is that his name is XBrolyx and for those of you that know about Broly, you know he's very offense, yet takes hits like crazy, unless you hit his weakspot that is). The main thing that's bothering me about this is that if I was to get another ego, say a Battle Hammer, then get a 2handed sword with the shield, If I were to use the 2handed weapon enchants, I'd lose hp, defense, and protection, so it seems to me that I put on the shield just so I could try to tank, when in reality, I'm a lot less durable than normally.
So, should I go for Full Swing, extreme dual-wielding, or let's say..........Broly's "supposed" character build (By that, I mean offense and defense, I just didn't want to type that and type something else mostly).

What do you find yourself using most often? Full Swing, WM spam, or defensive/offensive tactics? Every choice has it's ups and downs, and each would make a really good ego, so you should really just choose what you would use most.

All three are fantastic options!
But the Smash goes in favor of dual wield in this situation.
Iron Mace ego + Iron Mace max dmg = 201 + 83 = 284 max damage
Smash @ Rank 1
Battle Hammer ego = 600% * 196 = 1176
Dual-Wield (Iron Mace ego + Iron Mace) = 500% * 284 = 1420
Dual wield Iron Mace ego + Iron Mace beats the Battle Hammer ego at Smash by large.
Battle Hammer ego only has the 10k damage Full Swings as a bonus, but it is only usable during transformation.
It comes down to you.
Powerful 10k damage Full Swings or powerful, all-purpose dual wield weapons?

As his STR and Damage gets better though, the Hammer will eventually do more damage... Eventually.

Eventually, yes.
At 244 additional damage (bare-handed+enchants+STR+etc.), both options are equal in terms of Smash damage.
For additional damage greater than 244, the Battle Hammer wins.

STR and damage enchants would affect both the Battle Hammer and dual wield, however.
Dual wield is definitely superior here.
But the multiplier is greater for the Hammer, meaning anything that would apply to both has greater affect on the Hammer.

Yup. I edited my post. You are correct. :)
It's a lot of damage, however.
And that's just for Smash.
Dual wield would excel in Windmill.

Another pro for 2H and Battle Hammer, you can Windmill spam with low chance of monsters getting up too fast whereas Maces give monsters a faster time getting up.
I would tell you to get the Iron Mace because I don't even see much of them around. Most egos that I see in Ruairi are BH or Warrior Axes and I've only seen Remove have a high level Iron Mace so far. But all in all I would not care too much about which ego to get since they all are good. Giants are strong enough to do great damage without ego.

Am I right in saying Iron Maces are 3 hits lower stun, warhammers 2 hits higher stun? I thought it was pretty bad to dual wield weapons with different hits/speed

Iron Maces are Two Hit Slow weapons. You're thinking of Morning Stars, which are Three Hit Normal weapons.
But I personally went for the Battle Hammer. I had a Gold Two Handed Sword Ego, but I killed it because even though it had higher stats than an unupgraded Battle Hammer, I found that I wasn't doing enough damage to really keep me wanting it. Really, unless you use Wind Guard regularly, I wouldn't touch a Two Hander for an Ego. Plus, unless you put a lot of work into it to max stats, one of those Jousting Claymores will be a much better choice to go with a Vales Shield.
And then there's the factor of how often you use the Ego. If you use it regularly, then I would actually go for a regular Mace instead of an Iron Mace, since the end stats are a little better than the Iron Mace. If you plan to only use the Ego Weapon on occasion, than the Battle Hammer will be better for you, since you'll use Full Swing with it more often, and Full Swing doesn't use the Ego's durability, so it'll last you longer than the (Iron)Mace will.
But that's just my opinion.

Battle Hammer.
Smash and Full Swing should be the biggest deciding factors in my book, though others might prefer windmill. In both those areas the Hammer wins...and also when it comes to critical which is probably my favorite stat of all time. If you can get enough crit to have a max rate on HM monsters you'll be killing much faster than if you spent equal effort on damage since you have to put so many touches on them anyway.

I honestly forgot all about Jousting Claymores......-_-. As for the bolded part, How does Mace have better stats? Maces max is like 176 and Iro Mace is 201. Plus, iirc, Iron Mace reaches 176 max with only level 40 str, and then surpasses later on with will and luck. Still need some more opinions, cause the not being repairable is bugging me slightly about the Jousting Claymore. Aside from that, I'm leaning more towards a Battle Hammer, but I still want some more opinions.

Personally, I favor the Ego Iron Mace. Althought Hammer egos yield more potential damage in Smash and FS, but to repair is costly. I also figured in teh potential damage enchants probable for both iron maces and hammers.
There is no question that the damage enchants for 2h's; Untamed, Reliable, Destruction, and Crocodile beat out single weapon enchants; Shadow Hunter, Goddess, Raven, and Spike.
Considering that, my soon-to-be upgraded hammer will yield the SAME damage as a level 40 str ego battle hammer. The invested time is also a factor. This hammer will probably take me 5 or so hours to finish enchanting/upgrading whereas an ego hammer takes weeks. In those weeks, I could develop an ego iron mace.

I do see what you mean. However.....the crit on the ego is getting to me. 35% vs 50%. Although, My Windmill would potentially be stronger with a Iron Mace ego, then I could possibly wield a second Iron Mace/Warhammer (if I get enough dex for the hammer) and put Shadow Hunter/Lizard Spike on it. You did interest me with that, but I'm still not fully decided yet unfortunately.

if you really need a weapon for full swing, i suggest using a fuly upgraded titanic crocodile broad axe. With a broad axe with base stats, thats the equivalent to a weapon with 180 max damage, wich is only slightly under battle hammer ego damage, but costs less to get in long term, and probly is faster to get to that level of damage.
if you wanna compare with non ego choice to replace the iron mace ego, you get a shadow hunter/goddess spike warhammer, wich at most will result in a 114 max damage weapon, wich is pretty far from the possible 201 max damage from ego iron mace.
so my suggestion is ego iron mace
