Protip: Take a picture of your hand to avoid awkward hand cramps.
Start with light lines and then once you've got a basic outline and such done, go over the outline it again only with darker lines. Use an eraser to get rid of the light lines.
Alright thanks you. I'll try lowering it a bit and see how it goes.. Drawing is too much addicting. I can't beleive I lived all this time without drawing.
Ok, so after an entire day of drawing, I finaly pulled off an entire drawing, head, body, clothing, hair, everything. So tired.. I wanna sleep...
Cool first body sketch. Your lines are definitely more crisp than mine, haha. There's some things that irk me though...
The hands are too small. When a hand is stretched out, it can usually fit over your entire face with some of your forehead added in. Remember that when drawing them.
Her body may or may not be too short. Depends on your preference/style(and if she's actually just a child), but she's only 4.5 heads tall. Most humans are 5-6 heads, sometimes 8-10 if done correctly.
Thanks, through I'll like to ask, what do you mean by "pose your characters" ?
Edit: wow we actually posted at the same time.
Well Otto. I was my first time using photoshop CS2.. so when I started oding the lineart, I had the brush at 50% flow.
then I changed computer the next day (technicly had to use a laptop) and the Flow on it was at 100%
So that's kinda why most of the face and the right arm are more light than the rest. I was too lazy to redo them with 100% Flow
Now I kinda want to try coloring it but.. I have no idea how to do coloring.
I think she means you'll be able to try more dynamic/natural poses soon. Instead of just standing ones c:
You can find lots of coloring tutorials online. Some really good ones on deviantart. I'd start with the basics of whatever program you're using, then go into actual coloring tuts.
The easiest way to learn how to shade is to look into how light falls, and how shadows look when the light is coming from a certain direction. Once you get that you can pretty much shade anything.
I really love coloring, and I think it makes everything a lot nicer to look at, and really finishes a picture. I hope it's fun for you too :D
