Your score: 19
0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20)
Which doesn't really surprise me, as i'm an aspie.
I didn't understand half the questions and what they were trying to get at. Especially when some of them I thought I answered very empathetically.
But maybe that's just me.

I do not like these kinds of tests, because i view them as tests, so i would alwys try to answer it the "right" way.

You guys shouldn't feel bad for scoring low on this test. It is pretty biased and predictable.
I scored 64 for picking the "right" answers, but I'd say that I would never want to be near someone who would actually pick those answers.

From my personal experience.
High doesn't really mean "good"

That and it also seems to measure empathy as "not being socially retarded", which doesn't actually have to do as much with people who supposedly lack empathy as they seem to think it does. There are plenty of cold-hearted people who understand human emotions very well and an equal amount of kind-hearted folks who are a bit socially awkward.
It's hard to measure 'true' empathy because it varies so much from person to person.

except you're approaching this as a test and defeating the purpose of a survey
which is to collect people's experiences
not someone trying to appear as emphatic as possible
also, surveys are bound to have problems
but are so much cheaper than paying people to have them to come up to a psychology lab.

Human nature to try and do what is "right"

because a psychology lab knows what they are doing instead of putting random questions?
a survey like this probably shouldn't have any controversial questions in it.
"would you rather save a dog or a human?" not sure how one can determine empathy from that.

I got a 14. I think I must've answered some questions wrong this can't be right...

Since I'm too lazy to retake this test, I'll just copy/paste my results the last time
this thread came up.
40. A little surprised that it's that low. Must have been the already proven caring for animals dropping the score, as well as me being lazy (put strongly disagree to the questions that asked if I'm a morning person, or if I make a list of chores to do each day, and other like questions). Don't really see how laziness has to do with empathy when my laziness only affects me (seriously, don't see how making a list that I have to do for myself each day has anything to do with empathy as long as the chores get done).
