Please don't. Getting people to want to talk to the staff is hard enough without scaring them even more. I'd personally like to be able to hear people's feedback without them thinking I'm going to bite their head off (and despite name, no, I'm not ban-happy).
Unless it's talking casually, like in Bean Rua or something, then I usually have a hard time trying to do stuff with the staff for two reasons:
1) I have very strong opinions
2) I feel like i'm going to get banned for doing anything (even this post, but i've gotta speak out about it).
The whole vibe I get is the one mistake and you're gone kind of thing. I try to use the report function and the ignore function and whatnot but I only do so when something really rustles my jimmies because otherwise I feel like i'd be perma banned by now.
It's nothing personal against the staff and I know a lot of you are very nice people from talking to you in Bean Rua - it's just that when it comes to official buisness, i'm very flighty about talking to you guys (And I know that not only am I not the only one, but if it's me and a few other people then there's more people out there).

We're not going to ban you because you speak out to us. We don't care to take criticism. It's when people get disrespectful that it gets messy.
Go ahead and tell us we aren't doing it right, or what we need to work on, or what you'd like us to do. We're humans, and we make mistakes. Sometimes it takes someone who's a normal member to say something.

Yeah. We don't ban people for disagreeing with us, unless it's in a way that breaks the rules. You can say, "Ban sucks at this job because..." But not "Ban's a fucking bitch." Unless you seriously plan on flaming/insulting a staff member (or any other member, for that matter), you won't end up banned for feedback. You can complain about people, just don't insult them.
Don't be afraid to report things. I can honestly say that there are a bunch of reports that are way more unnecessary than yours would be. Every staff member here is a volunteer. A loot of us have a job, or school, or both. We don't always find everything that's wrong on the forums, and if no one reports it, that particular problem goes unresolved. Even if you think someone else may have reported it, go ahead and do it, because chances are, other people who would have reported the issue may have thought the same thing and moved on instead.
In any case, I'd rather people be honest and talk to us. There are things that get by us, things we slip up on, and we'd rather know than continue to repeat what people view as mistakes. It's better to have a discussion about why you guys think one thing and we do another than let things slide and eventually have to resort to something drastic.

*Breathes a heavy sigh of relief*

I-it's not like I want to ban you...b-baka!
Oh wait, it's exactly like that. RUN.
In all seriousness, though, I knew people were nervous about voicing their opinions. Didn't realize they were actually scared.

Semi intimidating names don't help.

As someone who doesn't go to the bean rua much and tries to avoid all the drama, seeing names like "Ban" and sigs with "power abuse" in them don't help, as Aubog said. I realize it's a joke because I posted in the thread in question that time, but if I hadn't seen it I probably wouldn't have posted in this thread.

Haha, I can see where you're coming from. However, this was a problem even before the name change/signature.
I do plan on going back to my name in a bit. This was just my less silent way to vent some of my frustrations, well....the name, at least. The signature was a joke directed at me, but instead of getting irritated about it, I decided to run with it. I had enough to be irritated with anyway.

When someone sends us a PM for a non-private issue, we'll make a thread about it in our staff section so everyone can see it. I'm not sure there's a need for another section that serves basically the same purpose. Am I misunderstanding your request?

The section would be easier then a PM. It would be right in front of the mods instead of a corner where you can barely notice if you have a notification sometimes. Also instead of sending it to 1 mod any mod could reply to it right away instead of waiting for it to be posted in the staff section.

The staff section is very noticeable, just not visible to normal members.
If the issue is urgent enough that it requires more immediate attention than PMs allow, wouldn't it be something that could reported? Every report creates a thread in a section invisible to members that all staff have access to. Are you looking for a section where users could have a dialogue with staff instead?

The section isn't just for reporting it is for dialogue with the staff to give them ideas and feedback mostly.
