Thanks. I think I'll get the Razr.
Actually, how useful is external memory?
Are ~10gb good enough for most uses?
external memory when your phone is past 16GB is not-so-much. I haven't used my 8GB micro SD in my 3 year old Nexus 1, though I wish it were onboard storage. I'd have about a half gig to a gig of apps if I had all the games / productivity / customization apps I wanted. Then I have two gigs of music, I stream over google Play or Pandora anything else i want to listen to, and use Freetube to download youtube videos, which uses another two gigs. then maybe a half gig-gig of pictures? And I am a fairly heavy user of my phone. This amounts to my having used 4.5 gB on my phone. If I had a new one, I might use 6-8GB.
But I believe you will be happy with either. Above all I recommend holding both in your hands. Honestly, I would pick between them based how they feel in your hand, as you will have it in your hands quite often for a year or four. As such you should have one which is comfortable to hold. For me, it's the DNA, but I'm not a verizon customer so I do nothing more than chat with the employees and get a feel for the phones. However you might enjoy the full day without recharge battery life of the RAZR Maxx.
And the DNA is actually the fastest Android Phone currently on the US market, despite it's 1080p 5" screen.
