Cells.
Biological researchers have created dead 'zombie' cells in the lab which outperform living cells.
The silica replicants can survive greater pressures and temperatures than flesh, and perform many functions better than the original cells did when alive.

I shall make a compound, that turns living cells into stronger "dead" cells.
It shall be viral in nature, but we need a name...
I dub it the T virus, because it shall be as strong if not stronger than Mr. T, i shall make a company that makes this virus, i shall make a logo for this company that is pleasing to the eyes, with the colors... Hmmm red and white, and put it on a logo that when it spins, it looks pretty to attract social and media attention. A spinning top wouldnt do... An Umbrella! That should work. Now to figure out a name for th... Aw the hell with it, make it easy. The Umbrella corporation.
WHAT COULD GO WRONG.

Cant say it's something to be worried about, human stupidity will probably be its own downfall in the end, but this is interesting :D

[S]I wonder if scientists will successfully create what the original zombies were created to try and create, but succeed because they were designed for the opposite purpose[/S]? :chin:

So they're superior to normal cells eh? I wouldn't mind having them in my body.
