Life Skills: Rank 1 Production Mastery and Refining, Rank C Taming, Rank F everything else
If any skills are not pictured, they have not been acquired.
I am mostly melee-oriented, but since I ranked ranged to wield my low balance broadswords, I use ranged in certain situations. I am having a tough time deciding which skills to work on next. I don't want to get into magic or alchemy, but ranged could be a possibility. Here are a few ideas that I've come up with:
- Rank Final Hit to 1
- Rank Final Hit to 9 or 5, then rank Defense to 1
- Rank Defense to 1
- Get AR and rank AR to 1 (or 2? 60 AP for 1...)
I don't really think I'll make any use of Magnum Shot, but if you feel that it is a vital skill, please say so. Also, I like the idea of ranking Defense for the extra base defense. Feel free to post any other ideas that I have not thought of.

It's so neat.
You're not considering magic or alchemy at all?
I'd say rank final hit if you have enough AP for it.
Unless you're getting hit a lot and need to tank a bit :l

Defense, then FH. Hmm... I have some saved SP from this RB. I could knock out Defense in 2 more rebirths if I work really hard, but is Defense worth it if I am doing it solely for the base defense?

Thanks! I'm a perfectionist. Haha. Getting rank C taming for G8 just killed me, because I knew I wouldn't use it for any other reason. Magic and alchemy don't appeal to me at my current total level. I have an elf and a giant if I ever want to really try those.

Lol your practically like me. Except i have R5 FH and R3 Defense. :awesome: Yes Defense is totally worth it. It also helps when you're tackling hard dungeons with party members, since it gives surrounding members xtra defense at R5-1.

I never could tell what the difference from normal shooting and Arrow Revolver other than Arrow Revolver shot faster, but I just watched a few videos on YouTube, and I figured it out. With normal shooting, I have to load the actual Ranged Attack skill after every shot, but with AR, I go straight to aiming after each shot. Now that I know this, I'm completely rethinking what I'm going to do next. I'll probably still do Defense next, though, because it might take me a while to get Arrow Revolver. I don't really use Final Hit much anyways, but the STR bonus does look great.

How far does the rank 5 to 1 Defense effect reach?

imo, you should just save aps for carpentry and then rank fh.
defense is really for running siren since black ship rats hit a lot and getting hit 1s from them is very useful.
besides if you need defense, just use mana shield.

1. The defense effect range is very small. I would compare it to rF magnum shot (200 units).
2. All life skills are difficult to train.
3. Arrow revolver is awesome. While the DPS is lower than elven ranged attack, arrow revolver is significantly more reliable.
4. Crash Shot in G12S2 is the highest damage dealer in the game.

Very good points. Now that I think about it, I would essentially be using about 150 AP for 9 extra defense. Maybe I should set Defense aside and save AP for Carpentry. After Carpentry, I will probably do Arrow Revolver then Final Hit.

I think that sounds like a good plan. Keep in mind though, if you are focusing mainly on the melee aspect it might be smart to focus on high str skills first rather than dabble into range right away. I'm not you though, you should decide your playstyle.

I would suggest AR first, so you can at least raft and kill monsters with HS 3, like Blue New Gremlins, without needing to trans.

Just a little update. Since the making of this thread, I have acquired AR, and it's now rank 1. I have also decided that I will save carpentry, as well as weaving, for end game, because a game should be fun, and slaving over woodworking planes and spinning wheels is not fun. So on that note, I have started ranking final hit, but I don't want to go straight to rank 1, because that's just too much AP in one go. I was thinking about stopping at rank 5 final hit, and ranking magnum shot to rank 1 before finishing off final hit. Basically, my goal is maxing out the combat tab now. So here's my plan:
1. Rank Final Hit to 5
2. Get Magnum Shot and rank Magnum Shot to 1
3. Rank Final Hit to 1
4. Save AP for G12/G13 skills, which will probably come out before I get to this point
Would this be a solid plan? I have very little knowledge of any G12/G13 skills, so I'm not sure where to fit in skills, such as Crash Shot. It will probably be a couple months before I reach rank 5 Final Hit, because I have stopped weekly rebirths due to school, so I have time to decide.
