I'm terrible with the metagame stuff though. I'd look like a total noob, I'll save myself the embarrassment. I play the games more from a story/collector vantage point and don't invest into too much time after I run through the story and do the after elite four activities.
Pokemon has a story?

Yes there's a story. Granted, it's relatively short, but it's still more satisfying than the anime. At least with each new game you have the excuse of being an entirely different person with a new pokemon to start. WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE, ASH?

Ash is just trying to find his deadbeat dad.
His pikachu is a hackmon with no level or ev cap
and someone on the last round of each tourny always has out-of region uber pokemon

I laughed.
Ash's Pikachu is probably over 9000 levels and yet it got killed easily by some low-leveled Pokemons the trainers had whenever he started out a new region. :l
I noticed that in the Best Wishes series of anime... he have seven Pokemon in the party, while the game only allow you to carry up to six.

Hm, not sure if this is true, but there is a lot of switching around when he does get into a battle.
Besides that, I would drive my way to get it. Though, I doubt I'll use it like every event pokemon.

Psh, Normal people and their judgmental attitudes. I'd probably strike up a conversation with whoever was cool enough to do that as I would share much similar interests with such a person.

I feel even more awkward when I'm the only one in the store, so all the employees are like, "Can I help you?" And I'm like, "No. I'm not buying anything. Just gonna stand around here for 10-15 minutes to take your Pokemon then leave."

10 to 15 minutes? It shouldn't take that long. D=
