So... I've had this power supply for 5 years and I have a crappy video card so I was wondering what would be a good combination that won't break the bank.

Thanks a lot Osay! Just curious, would this card be able to run newer games like Mass Effect 2 and Vindictus?
Also, video cards and PSUs are easy to install right? I've heard it's pretty easy but could someone like myself, with zero experience on how the inside of my computer works, be able to do it?

Just make sure your motherboard has pci-e connectors and it'll be fine, you can't really plug anything into the wrong place, if you already have a graphic card, check how it's placed, and take note of where the psu cables plug into.
That card is a pretty decent low end so it should run fine.

@Infamy
You have to consider that the powersource you suggested may not have enough power to run the GFX card you suggested, since it's pretty high-end.

hmm 500+ is normally a good bet. Unless you plan on running multiple.

It'll run it unless he has a lot of hard drives or other peripherals. I've installed that card on 500w psus at work.

500W PSUs are marginally safe for Crossfire builds. I think he'll be perfectly fine with an HD5750, and whatever older components he already has. ATI cards are known for low power consumption.

The GTS 250 I listed is stronger than all the video cards listed in here, except for the 5750 which is about the same in terms of power. The main difference between the GTS 250 and 5750 is that the 5750 only uses about half the amount of power and is DX11 compliant.
It's pretty much the best price:performance card however.

Ah! Make sure you have room. I've bought a couple graphics cards I didn't have room for. T_T
