how do i set up a bot on runescape

  I got some reports from this thread about Splat breaking the rules on the no mod/bot/hack rule. We talked it over in the staff closet, and after a few quickies, decided that he is not in violation of this rule, as it currently only covers Nexon games. However, this case has shown that the said rule is quite archaic and should probably cover all games that disallow such activities. Our Soda Dispenser will be going over that some time in the future.
  
  The actual problem is this thread itself. We got a huge moral police brigade marching down here and while I do appreciate this kind of debate, its starting to get a little hostile and aggravating.

  Splat has a difficult time processing information, so the concept is hard to grasp for him. At this moment, it would be simpler to just remind him that modding, botting, and hacking is simply a rule violation. If you have questions about this specific piece of information, feel free to PM me.

  Hey splat, if you really want to be able to autocut trees on the laptop while you do other things, then go to an area where the trees regrow decently.
  Or, find a place that nobody ever goes to that has regular trees.
  Then, download a macro tool such as [insert macro here]
  After that is done, find out what the hotkeys are to start and stop the program. Once that is done, start clicking on the trees in a certain order in order to not c clog up the macro too much.
  After you've cut down some trees, start up the macro and leave the laptop alone.

  Seems like a good change to me.
  My question is that if you guys do make these changes will we be prohibited from talking about game altering mods like Day Z and others like it?

  Mods that do not cause other players to be at a disdvantage are an exception to the rule.
  For instance, making the buildings in tara disappear in mabi is client sided, therefore it does not harm others.
  However, not getting hurt and being in a god mode is unfair.

  You're probably not aiming that at me, but yeah I know about Splat's condition. I was just pointing that out as a general exemple to explain to everyone saying we shouldn't answer him, why it was a bad idea to not explain it~
  
  But yeah I think we would be better with a rule against bot discussion (or well asking for bot) the same way our rules about mods for nexon game works. You can talk about them but not give detail on how they work or where to find them.

  Wouldn't that still constitute a third party program? Sure it's only a macro but the fact is he's still not doing the thing himself. Pretty sure that would be against runescape ToS.

  But what if someone were to tell people how to get the game / show them were they can download said game altering mods like textures and games that use other games in order to run.

  It is hard for him to understand it seems, but it's okay, I'm just glad we have people willing to tell him no matter what it's wrong.

  I'd say its fine as long as the link is to the relevant material.
  
  Modding and macros have always been a really difficult problem for everyone. As Juju mentioned, even gaming keyboards and mice can be considered as such. They were banning special mouse assignments at Starcraft tournaments if I recall.

  Linking to or teaching to use mods/macros: Not Okay
  Linking to or teaching to use mods/macros that have the official OK from the content owners (such as Source engine mods): Okay
  
  Does this sound acceptable? To filter out that gray area of debating whether its acceptable or not, we just see if they've given consent. Many players believe modding or using macros is acceptable because "no one has been banned", but since it has never received proper confirmation, its a risk we won't be dealing with.

  Splat dont even dare botting do it yourself ive been playing RS since it release and all i see is newbies with capes such as WC if you dont want to play the game how it was meant then dont some of us RS vets worked hard for our capes espically meh I got WC before it became common and now becuase of you type of people its common as hell I honestly hope they permanenet bann you or you get a virus then people like you would learn
