I've been debating getting a mouse for gaming, as I've already dumped money into a good computer (Saving up for an even better computer) and an awesome pair of headphones for gaming. But are gaming mouses with the macroable buttons compatible with mabinogi? I could always use more buttons for skills and pets? Just wondering, thanks.

they're compatible, and they'll link to the ` to = keys without problem. Personally I'd go for a Corsair model, they're going to be the best quality as far as gaming mice right now. I -personally- am looking to get a corsair M65 for it's sniper button for FPS games.

I got a Steelseries Kana because I wanted something a bit nicer than the cheapest Logitech mouse, for a change, and I'm not really impressed. The performance is generally OK, but it seems to have an issue where it'll sometimes release the mouse click hold action as I drag my mouse to make a selection or something, and then it'll re-click a fraction of a second later. It causes me to lose the selection's original point and have it reset elsewhere. It's a real drag (no pun intended) when rotating a camera in Mabinogi or something, as the camera rotation action is not unbound from the mouse when I release the button because it gets confused with the click bug.
It's kind of annoying because I replaced my cheap Logitech mouse after it started doing this after a few years' service. The new mouse started doing it after like a month, although it's happening much more rarely. :| Makes me wonder if perhaps I should try installing the drivers for it, or check if there's a firmware update... :|

Look through reviews to find out which one is worth its salt. Also, huge "dpi" values beyond 800 aren't really worth it, don't make your decision based upon it at all. Each and every technical improvement made in this area since I was in 8th grade has no practical relevance and is just pretty numbers for gullible customers (like I once was).
As for sound, if you say awesome, what's your budget limit exactly? That means headphones and soundcard.
Also, what do you mean when you say awesome gaming headphone? Like, what characteristics do you look for in gaming headphones?

Most 15 dollar mouse nowadays have 1500 dpi dude.
Anyways for mice, if you're on a budget, one of these are really great in the price:quality department. It really is a fantastic mouse.

A lot of mouse have a huge price markup that doesn't pay off. This actually applies to most "gaming" gear. By giving it some edgy sharp design and calling it "gaming", they can easily attach 20% more dollar value to it.
I'm currently using a hundred dollar sennheiser headphones and its better than any TURTLE BEACH HERP DERP I've tried on.

Oi, didn't know that. It's been 5 years since I got my mouse.
You're being very generous with just 20% here, I think.
Which headphone model exactly? Just out of curiosity. I use the AKG K 601 as I think I've mentioned an estimated three hundred times before, too bad they're not produced anymore. You have to get lucky to even find a used one for sale at ebay, at least I never found anything when I looked it up out of interest.

To specify what kind of mouse I'd want, it'd mainly be for MMOs, meaning I'd want lots of buttons to keybind skills to, but can also be used for other games.

I'm quite happy with my Razer Deathadder 2013 edition. It's got 2 conveniently placed mechanical buttons where your thumb usually rests, allowing you to hotkey something like Sprint/Kick/Weapon change in various games. It was around $45. The logitech G9X I've heard is also quite impressive, but it was too expensive for me. Oh, and don't go wireless for gaming.
If you listen to music a lot, getting a nice pair of headphones will be more beneficial. The boost in sound quality is more noticeable than the DPI increase imo. I'm using ATH M50s.

To add to specification, I'll put it like this. The reason I want this mouse mainly is because on mabinogi the amount of skills I am using frequently is exceeding the amount of hotkeys I have (And has been for a while), but could also be used for other games. Money for the most part is not an issue, I'm looking for a high quality MMO mouse that can function decently for other activities and will last me a long time.

If you want a mouse with lots of extra buttons I guess you'll just end up getting a razer naga or a logitech 600.
My dream mouse is this. Logitech G500 is the more realistic one for me though.

Im a Razer fan. If you want a multikey mouse,
RAZER Naga Hex I use the deathadder, however I tried out my friend's Hex, those buttons came handy when playing his GW2. Comfy hand fit too.
If you need more button than go for
RAZER Naga 2012

I got my g500 for about 27 bucks after tax.
Pretty good mouse and I've been having an enjoyable time with it. The weights are gimmicky and once you've settled on a preferred weight, you'll never change it. There's 5 different custom DPI settings but I only use 3 (and only one I use most of the time). The buttons can also be mapped to keyboard keys and also macros. The scroll wheel has the option of either click by click or smooth scrolling and it's controlled by a button that manually locks the wheel or releases it. That button does rest directly below the wheel so it can be a little annoying at times. There's also custom profiles and stuff but I didn't really need to go into it just yet. Other than that it's also got a very nice full handed grip as well. The laser itself is invisible to the naked eye and the cable is protected by a shoelace like threading all around so that's also a nice plus.
It says 10 buttons mappable which IS true but two you'll need to use to control the DPI settings (unless you're only using one DPI setting).
In my past experience, my hand usually leaves a oily residue on my mice which eventually has to be scraped off. I've owned the mouse for about a month so far and I've seen none of that which is excellent.
