Yup and extra 10 pts with an exp 2 cooking reforge :D
I shall be adding on a tasting, ingredient hunting and catering guide within the cooking guide soon [hopefully ... whenever i have time]. It will be based on the fact that cooking is r9 when tasting is obtain.

tasting is incredibly easy so put it last, I did it by eating stacks and stacks of strawberries, rank one took me about half an hour during the event.
For catering go to annick in cobh and buy barley tea(350 gold each).
ingredient hunting.... well just kill a lot of mobs, saga ep 4 final and dorren's request work great, but letting it accumulate exp from your daily slaughtering also doesnt take too long. but srsly, saga ep 4 final with ice spear or hydra, or fast casting fireball works will rank it up insanely fast.

tomato would be the cheapest item to spam eat [8g each] and becomes so much easier with catering [the fact is that its annoying to obtain normally]
and yea ingredient hunting isnt too hard at least i dont believe it is. just really time consuming and cant really be 'focus' upon. its a really passive skill lol.

want fast ingredient hunting? then go to Saga ep 4 final(glitched is best), with a windmill capable of hitting ~3k
high rank ice spear, master title Hydra, r1 speed cast fireball(less effective than ice spear and slightly less effective than hydra) or whatever you have that's capable of wiping out a lot of mobs, fast.
EDIT:
Fried onions with 55% onion 45% garlic does not work (viably) for perfectly cooked requirements. there's apparently a quality penalty for ignoring salt/pepper, (out of 20 dishes only one counted for perfectly cooked w/o salt). using 47%onion 40%garlic and 13%salt created perfectly cooked dishes 100% of the time. (thank you cooking ruler)

As of the SAO event, SAO Lisbeth's title adds Blacksmithing Success Rate +3%, Refining Success Rate +2%, and Gathering Speed +5%. Might wanna add that to applicable guides like Blacksmithing.

I know this may seem as a necro, but I'd like to add for the cooking guide, with the food truck- you get another x2 training when cooking/eating foods with the truck summoned. I'm not sure if it also works with the books (more than likely not)
Also would like to add a HUGE thank you to chaos for the creation of this guide, it has been my bible for life skills and thanks to you I have completed my life tab (with the exception of r3-1 mushroom gathering *I blame being lazy*)

Chaos' do you have plans of completing/finishing the rest of the guides?
-
Chaos' wrote on 2016-06-14 04:27
Yes I do. I just need to find time. Lol. Is there guides in particular that your more interested in? If so I can try to put that one on my priority list.

I'm am currently updating/completing the blacksmith guide and making sure my material calculation are correct.
Can anyone tell me how often does great success happens for smithing?
Everything else is a bit messy and I will try my best to go through them and make them a bit more neat again.
If anyone got suggestion on how to improve the format or anything about the guides please post it up here! Thank you.
I also made a separate material excel sheet.

Thank you so much for the Cooking guide. ;u;
Does anyone know if the food truck bonuses apply if the food truck does not belong to you (like if a party member summoned it)? I'm a bit confused as to how it works.

 You welcome
I believe it only affects the player who owes the food truck. I dont have one so I can't be sure about it.

Good and great are depending on the manual rank alone, it's not random RNG like godly bows with carp or great success with enchanting.
~ copied from the wiki "Achieve a good result forging a tool or a weapon." requires the manual's rank to be no more than one rank below the player's Blacksmithing rank.
To "Achieve a great result forging a tool or a weapon.", the manual must be at least 2 ranks higher than the player's skill rank.
Also for those of you intending on mastering black smithing, don't get dan before mastering; it will mess you up as you're not able to meet the requirement with of good result with a manual no more than 1 rank below your rank. (I'll verify this later today)

Let me rephrase the question. What is the success rate for great success when using a manual that is 2 ranks higher than your current rank. I know that it's not 100% success rate in getting a great success so what is it?
