This has honestly been a problem and its one of the worst kinds of spam. We'll be categorizing it under what is classified as spam from now on. Don't try to be a smart ass about it. Spoiler tag within a spoiler tag is okay as long as it is properly nested and handled correctly. Spoiler tag within a spoiler tag for the sake of being in a spoiler tag is blatant spam. Contain it in bean rua.
Second:
Spoiler tags in signatures. There are a number of reasons why we have the signature size limitation. You might think the only reason is to prevent stretching the post too far, but the other reason is to prevent us from loading an excessive amount of content per page. Just because something is in a spoiler tag doesn't mean our browsers don't load them.
Total signature file size should not exceed 1.5MB.
You are still following the original rules on signature size! Don't make a signature with 3 giant gifs stuffed in to a spoiler tag. Some of you are very guilty of this!
Third:
I'm seeing some really negative crowd reaction in petition threads. Like it or not, our users have the right to gather people for a cause, as long as that cause is appropriate and does not harm anyone. You are free to debate the cause, but showing up to the thread only to leave comments like "it won't work anyways, why try?" or "this idea is stupid!" is not constructive. Comments like these are simply harassment and rude.
Fourth:
You guys need to be able to differentiate between making a joke and bullying. This thread is a solid example of simple, plain, textbook bullying. I thought about making an analogy to the situation, but I would assume you guys are smart enough that I don't need to explain it to you.
Most people who harass and bully other people don't even realize what they are doing. Please reflect on that for a moment; don't be a part of the problem.
Fifth:
Our moderator activity is plummeting. I really didn't want to do this, but I may need to cycle out the staff. In particular, there are moderators who quite literally have been MIA for longer than my position as admin.
That said, I'm accepting applications via private message for a position as one of these:

Your application, post history, and overall activity will determine whether I want you for the job. Additionally, I'll be looking at all your previous reports to see if you have a proper understanding of the rules (if you're submitting lots of false positives, I really can't have you on board).
Please refrain from nominating other members. This isn't a popularity contest.
Sixth:
Because these incidents are very common, I'll be introducing a method for the moderators to send feedback anonymously. Simply put, we use a generic account, NationFeedBack to send feedbacks. While the feedback is anonymous, the staff who worked on the case is still required log their actions in the report thread, so you are still free to report the feedback and we'll know exactly who made the feedback. This account does not have any staff abilities, and will be used exclusively for sending feedback in private messages.
This is really just optional, and helps moderators get over their fears of... pretty much telling someone off.
