  I don't know the % on the drop rate on the emerald cores but I managed to score a few after killing like 4 or 5 of the mobs. So I wouldn't say they are hard to get.
  
  No partner on KR test so I couldn't tell you the answer to your partner question.
  
  Didn't keep an eye on the success rate of magic crafting/engineering compared to the base rates in the pack file so unsure there as well.

  I would like for you to refrain on posting how common a mob drop is.
  
  
  Unless you are on KR main, please keep in mind i believe drop rate is increased by the same rate as exp.
  
  Which is either x2 or x5?
  
  Unless everything is x1, but i believe everything is at LEAST x2

  No, because mob drops don't work quite that way on mabi.
  
  Since only one standard item can drop from a mob at a time, it can effect the other item's chance to drop as well.
  
  
  A great example of this is the Cuilin Golem. It is designed to drop a golem crystal at around a 95-98% success rate. So when 2x item drop comes out, you think it would be higher right? Actually it becomes lower, because it shares the same item pool as a fire elemental or teeth patterned ankle boots. It forces those up and in turn, it lowers the golem drop.

  Playing on KR Live, emerald cores are roughly the same rate as bears dropping empty chests... which is to say, isn't too bad.
  
  It's the same on KR Test from my experience.
  
  You can spend as much time as hunting empty chest and kill over 200 enemies, or pop one after 5-10.

  The point was not to hype something as common, sorry for asking you not to do that.
  Because what you clearly suggested, is that these are more common than common/cheap leather.

  If gold drops every kill from a normal+ mob (strong awful boss) then the drops are increased.
  
  
  Once again, a good example is double rainbow where EVERYTHING AND THEIR MOTHER drops gold almost 100% of the time.

  Is that a mod, an option, or is it always like that?
  (And is it the same for Mineralogy?)

  It's automatic.
  
  But it isn't an AFK skill since reserves does go empty, but you won't have to constantly click like you do in herbalism.
  
  Potion makers rejoice... a lot of poison herbs drop.

  Understandable. It's just that you hit a nerve with that opening line which caused me to flip a lid about it. Huge pet peeve of mine is being told what to do by someone I consider an equal. Just as much of a set off from being told how I should spend my money. Both are guaranteed to make me instantly pissed.

  Agreed, a simple, "Keep in mind that the drop rates on KR test is blah so it probably isn't that common" would have sufficed. But ya, enough on that.
