In Ghosts?
I'm sure there has already been a thread for this. But I'm lazy.
Do you believe in ghosts? Spooky things that go bump in the night?
To what level do you believe if you do? Do you also believe in demons and monsters and the whole shebang?

To some degree I do but not in the same way commun folks image them to be.
I don't think of them as spirit of the dead but more like a spiritual afterimage of them... a condensation of negative feeling the person left when they died took hold of some Universal energy to substain it's existance and is left to roam the place.. These manifestation have no though or anything but they can react to certain stuff.. but in most case most people die without creating such manifestation or they break down and become nothing pretty easily. It's basicaly a corrupted, broken program with no purpose whatsoever..

I'm a science guy, so if no solid proof, it doesn't exist.
Like our forum's unwritten rule, no pics, didn't happen.

[S]Of course I believe in demons and monsters, I've fought them[/S]
I don't really believe in ghosts. Sometimes I think that monsters probably are real, just not in the way they're portrayed in books/shows/movies/games. In a way the animals around us are monsters, we just don't see them that way.

Ghosts as in the souls of people who have passed on?
No.
When a person dies, their soul is judged by God and is cast into Heaven or Hell. There is no way to escape judgement, because God is a righteous and omnipotent judge.
Furthermore, God wouldn't allow people to escape their position in Heaven or Hell - therefore it is impossible to leave Heaven or Hell once you have already been placed there.
Any attempts at contacting ghosts or instances of seeing ghosts are either a result of:
1-) An illusion (mental or magical in nature)
2-) A demon masquerading himself as a deceased person
Most of the time it's just a trick of the light or a odd state of mind.
Now. Why would a demon try to pretend they were a deceased loved one? Some people have claimed to have been visited from people who reside in Heaven. They give false information about the reality of the afterlife or they say "You're fine, just keep living the life you are living."
When in reality, that person is living a very dangerous lifestyle.
Demons can excel at such trickery, because they have been invisibly observing humans ever since we were created. So posing as a loved one isn't all that difficult, if they know a bunch of information about them (even what was said in secret).
As for "monsters", not really. But I do believe in evil spiritual beings (I.e demons).

I don't believe in anything like that.
There are numerous explanations for may things. Sound alone can account for a lot of things people see. Certain sound frequencies can cause dizziness and hallucinations, and total silence can drive a person insane within an hour.

Episkey, what denomination are you? i.e. what sort of christian?
Anyways, I don't believe in ghosts, specifically, but I do believe in energy. Given, I'm agnostic, I'm very science and tech minded, but I know there's situations where people know/feel things they've got no right to know/feel.

I don't associate myself with any particular denomination, opting to call myself a Biblical Christian.
However, I currently attend a Baptist church. I've gone to other denominational churches as well.

Funny you say biblical - doesn't Revelations say specifically that no one is judged until judgment day? And on judgment day, the dead will be brought back to life and from there on those chosen will live in heaven, but not until then.
Are you a biblical literalist, btw?

wat no. If there was sheit like this it would be a lot more exciting but no. Like all those stupid ghost hunter shows piss me off, they make money for acting scared. Give me a flashlight and I would walk around an abandoned mansion all night.
As for monsters, I guess kind of what Godzilla said. Like, I think back in 2006 a prehistoric animal appeared to go give birth but it died. I find those sort of things to be monsters. If we still had some dinosaurs ( not talking about turtles and stuff ) I guess those would be called monsters.
I don't believe in any sort of demon stuffy stuff.

Hmmm. That was interesting reply.
Anyway - yes, there will be a Judgement Day ... an actual day of judgement. However, if a person were to die right now they reside in a sort of "temporary" Heaven or Hell.
Paradise and Hades, respectively. So people who die
right now are judged for their sins, the only difference is their ultimate location.
Therefore, the final destination is what I chose to refer to and most people are familiar with the usage of Heaven and Hell.
As for "biblical literalist", I will ask you to define this term for me please :o
(In a PM, I'd rather not have this thread derailed with an examination of my personal beliefs. If you would be so kind.~)

Of course. My childhood toys didn't play by themselves in the middle of the night when I was trying to sleep. D:

I don't believe in ghosts in the traditional sense, but to a degree I think there might be more to Paranormal happenings than meets the eye in some instances.
The people on these TV shows don't know what the hell they're doing, it's like a child playing with a scientific instrument, they can draw conclusions from data but the interpretation is not necessarily correct.

When you die, you die, thats all there is to it, sadly.
Unless I "see" one, I'm not believing that they're real.
