The people on these TV shows don't know what the hell they're doing, it's like a child playing with a scientific instrument, they can draw conclusions from data but the interpretation is not necessarily correct.
All I know is when they set up that monitor thing and are like, "If you're here, turn this on." and it comes on and then they're like, "Ok. Do it again." and it comes on again and then they are like, "one more time." and it comes on one more time then stops coming on when they stop asking it to(to make sure it's not just random interference) I get a bit creeped out. ;c

All those shows are fake.

Episkey, what denomination are you? i.e. what sort of christian?
Anyways, I don't believe in ghosts, specifically, but I do believe in energy. Given, I'm agnostic, I'm very science and tech minded, but I know there's situations where people know/feel things they've got no right to know/feel.
I feel the exact same way. Lazy man's atheism right here.

I don't have to. If it were legit it'd be in science journals, not in a reality tv show.

Yeah xD
But they are fun to watch! Gives you a thrill and a bit of curiosity for the supernatural.
I really wish there was supernatural stuff, Earth is sometimes boring. :l
Don't get me wrong there is a lot of awesome stuff but sometimes I wish we had superheroes and dragons and bending. xD

I don't believe in ghosts as in dead people who want to watch women changing or cause trouble.
I do support the idea of parallel universes though, which science seems to like. And what if parallel universes occasionally overlap in some weird science-y way?

The only legitimate sources of information are not housed in science journals.
I will kindly refer to you
On Cynanche Trachealis.
I understand your point of it being on a reality tv-show, so I'm not trusting of anything that appears/said via that medium. But you can't use science as a back-up in cases like the supernatural.
Science is based on the senses, the supernatural falls under the realm of Rationalism - not Empiricism.

On a note like that, I've always thought to myself-
What if the so called "Shadow People" that some witnesses claim to see and call ghosts are actually 3-Dimensional Shadows of humans from parallel universes in a higher dimension overlapped with our own? I've always thought that would be pretty damn cool. Our own shadows in our own 3D world are 2-Dimensional, so to us, something in a higher Dimension than ours which we shouldn't be able to perceive might cast a shadow that we can perceive in our world.
I've probably got things very wrong, but damn does it sound cool. And I think that's why a lot of people like the ideal of the supernatural and paranormal.
It sounds damn cool.

I believe nothing without hard, solid proof.
In that way, of course I don't believe in ghosts, demons, etc.
While people who are just kinda "eh don't really know, there could be ghosts, i guess." don't bother me, I'm usually highly annoyed by people who claim to know for sure that they undoubtedly exist.
And, people who actually claim to be of a 'mystical persuasion' annoy me most.
...For example, my mom believes herself to be a psychic and is constantly wanting to tell me about her visions and shit. Nearly every time I talk to her, it's always "I saw this happening... I knew that this would, I felt it, I saw it. We were in this very room, having this same conversation. I know what will happen next, too."
So goddamned annoying.

You'll have to link me to "On Cynanche Trachealis" because a google search doesn't seem to produce anything readable. But my point was more than just "it's a reality show." They portray things that are measurable by our senses, i.e. "turn this monitor on if you're here." Something like that, while unexplained by science, could still easily be published in a more legitimate manner.

This thread got me thinking about what it's like to die.
It's hard to believe it would actually be....over, like, is there really nothing after this life that we were given?
On the subject of ghosts, I'm a scaredy cat who's afraid of the dark and often feel like something is watching me, but I can never see them.

It's late, so I didn't really look in depth of what some posted. Excuse me if I missread anything <.<
On the topic of certain feelings which people may have that attributes to a higher power, 6th sense and such, it's usually associated with certain hormones produced and brain activity. I'm sure there are studies that backs up what I just said. The case is the same as deja vu. There's a pretty awesome video by Vsauce on youtube (all his videos are awesome and explains so much it's fascinating).
tl;dr Most things are related to science. Is it somewhat apathetic to the emotional portion of human life? Yes. Is it diminishing the significance of said emotions? No. In fact it's even more interesting to know the basis of these intangible part of our lives (at least to me it is)
