  Though I must admit, Blackcypher is doing something it shouldn't, but I would also blame a few things on the amount of people that possibly returned for G18, as well as the raids that seem to be putting a bit of stress on the servers.

  It's a vpn program designed for games. Which means it gives you an ip address of what server you would like to connect to. Basically it moves your ip address closer to the nexon servers, if you have chosen an LA server. No modding there :)

  The memory usage increase is meh. Mabi was already using around 1.3~1.5 GB of RAM before this, which is pretty silly for this kind of game but whatever. The bigger issue is that for every anti-debugger type program they inject into the client (ie. GameGuard, HackShield, or Black Cipher) the amount of tampering done to the Mabi client with these process increases... which leads to more crashes. Crashes are pretty annoying.

  Too bad this is mostly useless and sometimes harmful because in the end the distance between you and the server will still be the same--you're just adding extra steps in between you and the game server. The only time I could see this being useful is if your ISP has bad route paths to the game server, but good path routes to the WTFwhatever server of your choosing. You then have to hope that the proxy server would have a path fast enough as to not make the combined path longer than your original one. :v

  Don't understand how that helps, and it sounds shifty. In the way of against the rules or could give you a virus or something.

  Completely legit but like yoorah said pointless except in an extreme scenario.
  
  On a positive side I'm surprised black cipher isn't flipping tables at all the stuff I have running like vmware and packet inspection tools like wireshark. I remember a year or two ago hackshield went nuts about those.

  I agree it is useless for games such as Mabinogi, but it could be beneficial for games with IP restrictions such as Ragnarok Online 2 SEA.
