Crystals may still be used but not created, and you can do the same thing with just the basic four elemental crystals.

Whilst I haven't played it myself, from what I've seen, between elemental waved frozen blast, free golems with taunt, instant blinding with sand burst, free shock, and the ability to instantly chaincast 5 charges to take out that archer aiming at you, it doesn't seem multiaggro is too big of an issue. Not too sure though :o

Watched before, but I mean something more of a party play. Most videos I've seen on alch G18S2 are soloing stuff, just wondering other than simply spamming waved frozen blast, which I would gladly do, is there more to the update I can utilize instead of just shock and freeze?

For example I can think up of a good one would be something like:

Waved Golem -> Golem taunt -> Golden time -> Waved Frozen Blast -> Auto Golem windmill + CC flameburst
which would be very useful in large wide spread areas where you need to group monsters up and even if you have only one e-wave to use, you can skip straight from taunt to CC flame burst

or another one would be

Shock golem -> Golem Auto combat into crowd -> hydra
which gives you enough time to set up hydra even in mid-fight

Like even in merely HM Fomor attack the shock & freeze tactic won't work already. There's a lot of limitations to frozen blast and they put it there for a reason. It's not supposed to be your solution to everything.

Alchemists are pretty good at shaking off mobs, with sills such as Sandburst, Windblast, Shock, Barrier spikes and of cource, Raincasting.

Elemental wave frozenblast will prove to be very useful since it has no CP limitations.

I also read somewhere that I'll still get golem's old UI if I'm using only one cylinder, and the new UI (golem with AI) if I use dual cylinder. Is that true?

Having ONLY a guard cylinder is the same as ONLY an ordinary cylinder. Having both lets you use Hydra, lets you use the updated Golem UI, and gives you the elemental gauge.

I don't know if you can use Golden Time with only one cylinder, but if you can't, then you can't use elemental wave either because no elemental gauge with just one.

Are you sure? So it's possible to freeze even 10k+ cp monsters o.o? What about field bosses? I definitely hope none of that is true because that would just ruin the game and declare shock obsolete.

Because if that's true I don't see why the alch videos in martial arts would even bother rain casting. Just freeze every single NPC, do a water here a flame there, freeze is ove- REFREEZE!

Well, of the four new skills, Guard Cylinder Mastery for sure takes into effect without a normal cylinder equipped, so long as you have a guard cylinder. Though I'm not sure if Golden Time is usable or not. And Elemental Wave being usable depends entirely on if Golden Time is usable.

(And assuming you manage to elemental wave a golem then switch to wand+guard cylinder, you'd lose the updated UI and I assume, the golem's AI.)

Frozen blast has different mechanics.
if you cannot even use frozen blast against an enemy, you cannot freeze them regardless

Just like ice spear, you cant even fire it off.

Well GG then :P That's 5/6 of all the dungeons and shadow missions and monsters in the game cleared immediately ._. Mabi was fun til it lasted. You can use frozen blast on most enemies, only a handful are locked. I believe last I tried you are capable of using frozen blast on NPCs in MA, just that they won't freeze because of the cp restriction

Btw, you'd wanna use a better analogy. You can actually fire IS as long as the monster is in range
