We had a half-discussion in the other thread regarding Fanart Contests...
I thought maybe Mabination could have one with nx as a prize. Or something else if you don't play NA nexon games :l
I'm willing to provide the nx, but just 10k's worth.
School's starting for some people though so it might be tricky, we'd need more than 3 or 4 entries, if you know what I mean.
What do you think?

Do eeettt
I'll probably participate, as long as there is no requirement that you need to color your pictures lol
(sucks at coloring. I skipped preschool, okay?!)

Since school is starting (right around now...), I 'd think that if we did have this, it would have to run until 2011. So that those with really busy schedules could work on it during Thanksgiving/Winter break. Or just have it run until we get enough entries. Orrrr, it could be a fanart/photomanipulation contest with category winners and then one overall winner...? It would let people who don't draw but can make beautiful signatures enter but that would be more complicated. /willingtoprovideanother10kNXforthis

I support this anyways. :D
Although yes, most people won't have time to do this in schoolz.

I don't really wanna do a photomanipulation thing because that's already in SOTW.
And so far, it's just looking like a one-time thing because drawing takes much longer than making a sig. Usually.
And it takes considerable more effort, at least for me, to make it look good.
I guess colour wouldn't be required, but would be like a bonus. Uh, example of scoring :
Overall Design : /15
Relevance to Theme : /10
Lineart/frame/sketch, you know : /10
Shading/Colouring: /10
And we could have a bonus, like, incorporate some sort of thing to do with Mops into the picture to get +5 points.
I dunno, it's just a beginning.
I'm thinking around 3 judges, people who aren't planning to enter and we decide to be fair~

Well like, it could also be for an ENTIRE year, so that the time frame for the contest encompasses the rest of this summer and next summer but then people would have to be allowed to enter multiple entries, just because there's so much time. >>;
edit:
@Kazu; Sounds like a good start, I like it. owo

Keep working on ideas for it, like it so far except the part were it lasts for ages. Try to make it as short as possible so people are actually interested.

A week is too soon for a serious art project, a year is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY tooo long, a month is about right if your busy. There is always free time popping up within a 4 week span

Jihui wrote on 2010-08-17 02:18
orz. I don't think it would be monthly because of school. If it was monthly, there would be less quality pieces, I think... Because if you have a bunch of AP classes and such, weekdays are busy and weekends are full of catching up on sleep and doing homework.

A month would mean higher quality. More time to plan, try something, start over, etc etc. Instead of playing Mabi or posting on the forums you could draw a little bit or paint or digitial what-have-you. Eventually it builds up even if its only 30mins-an hour each time.
Yeah people worry about school but anything more then a month is a bit much. A year would be ridiculous and I would easily forget about it

I say a seasonal time frame. A month is a nice time frame, but considering that we're still a relatively small community (compared to the KR Mabinogi playerbase), a monthly contest is a little too short. However, a seasonal contest can be better for the size of our community. Once we get more than 30 regularly active members, then we can think about making the contests a little more frequent, but this also helps with whoever volunteers to buy NX for the contest, since the three months time frame allows them to plan ahead to buy the NX, where as something can come up in a month for the person that's buying the NX to prevent them from buying NX. (And also allows someone to take over incase the NX buyer just vanishes).

I'd forget about it......... x_x and probably loose the piece I made xD;;
You guys do realize how long a month is right?
