  Ultros server is recommended.
  It's the official NeoGAF server and also where the cat's Free Company (guild) will be.

  Likewise, according to http://arrstatus.com/, Ultros hits 100 ping for me. I might try out Exodus, which appears to be new but I'm not really sure. From what I know Gilgamesh and Leviathan are the most popular severs, which I would kinda like to avoid but I might just go Gilgamesh.

  Actually, those ping values are only between the server and the website--not you. You'd have to find the server's IP and ping it yourself to test your connection.
  
  And IIRC, all NA/EU servers are hosted in Montreal, Canada. So ping-wise, it doesn't really matter which one you pick, so long as you don't pick JP.

  Though that's nice to hear, I guess I might just choose whatever server that sounds cool... which makes things more difficult.
