Well, just learned that Hydra transmutation is stamina based, no idea what the Co.e is.

All Alchemy skills that required you to create the crystals for them were re-adjusted, so basically they got rid of the points you get for creating them, got rid of the objective, and made those points spread out into getting more points for the other training requirements.

I believe Gameabout has all the new skill requirements down somewhere.

Just because I'm a lazy bum...does this make the skills easier or harder to train? Or was crystal making never a big part of the experience needed to rank up the skill

I don't know honestly, chain cylinder's new and only requirement is just to attack with a chain'd attack.

- Hydra Transmutation deals damage every [3] seconds.
- Skill damage increases after each tick, regardless of whether or not anything was affected.
- The damage stops increasing past the fifth tick.
- Skill damage is influenced by the ranks of Hydra Transmutation, Clay Alchemy, Alchemy Mastery, Guard Cylinder Mastery, cylinder element modifiers, and current stamina.
- The stamina coefficient is likely 0.08 (the same as Flame Burst).
Assuming all of the aforementioned skills have been capped and you're using an Earthquake Cylinder while transformed as a Champion, you should see something similar to the following damage on an enemy with no magic defense or protection.
410 > 820 > 1230 > 1640 > 2050

What happens to old crystals? Didnt see anything about them in the post. They're not craftable anymore but are they still usable with some special bonuses or something? Or should I be trying to get rid of/use my hoarded alch crystals asap?

I thought it was every second.
Sadface.

Thanks for the information Keap, gladly appreciate it.
Still seems decent enough.

Still good for multitasking, I also thought it was every 5seconds, but I'm not complaining.

You can sell/NPC your crystals after the update for a good amount of cash, and alchemy skills now just use basic-element crystals.

The Hydra Transmutation Mastery Title vastly improves the effectiveness of the skill. It extends the duration by 20 seconds and increases clay alchemy damage by 10 points. The skill itself deals a grand total of 4000% of its base damage at r1 across its duration (10 ticks). The mastery title increases this to 7000% of its base damage, more than 75% extra damage across its duration (16 ticks).
That's around 30k damage across its duration, with no reliance on critical hits. Throw Hydra out during Offering and afk through the rest of the mission as enemies flop to their deaths in place.

It's probably worth ranking just for Offering since I have a lot of trouble with that SM.
I'm still kinda disappointed that it's 1 tick per 3 seconds though. ;_;

I think it would be overkill if it was every second.
...B>Hydra duration reforges.
Also, I heard you can only apply 5 hydras on a monster... my god, I need to run stuff with my alch buddies on Vate day.

I don't really think it'd be close.
It's still probably the most useful alchemy skill though.

Shock probably still holds that title, even after the duration reduction.
Champion of stunlocking enemies as you Crash Shot them to death.
It's too bad they've added Mana Deflector to just about everything that's still bulky enough to be a threat.

How much do they sell for?
