Make dropping out a crime, then once in jail they will be forced to get an education whether they like it or not.
Or just skip that step and put armed officers on the buses to make sure everyone shows up unless they have a valid excuse.
You can't jail minors, and this completely negates all extenuating circumstances discussed before.
Also, putting a bunch of teens in juvenile centers for dropping out of school is so police-state. This is America.

I'm sorry, Yoorah, your posts have baffled me and I have no response to anything you've said on my replies to this thread.

I knew a few people forced out of school by their parents to help pay for bills, GED program is very helpful in that regard.

Also, putting minors in jail costs more than putting them in school

I know for a fact that the GED program has helped someone I know. It's not for everyone, and yeah, there are always people who will do their best to just abuse a system, but taking something helpful away from people who actually need it and use it properly because someone else ruined it is not the way to go.

for every 1 person that "abuses" it, it helps 100 people.

Studies show those numbers are reversed.

It's the context of the word "abused"

Like I can remember the name of a documentary from a week ago, let alone its sources. If you wanted sources you should have asked when I posted the topic and explained the studies showing that most people who get GEDs still go nowhere in life. I don't remember now.

Wait, are you talking about the documentary that says it won't help you in jobs because it only tests cognitive skills?
Well shit, if you go by that logic, then you know kids in high school or college ain't gonna get anywhere in life.

No, I'm talking about the studies that show that people with GEDs are more likely to quit jobs/college and live at home with their parents until they're 30 than people with diplomas because most of them are just lazy.

53% of americans between the age of 18-24 live with their parents due to a declining economy.
13% of americans between the age of 25-30 live with their parents.
It's not about being lazy, it's about not pissing away your money on student loans to get in debt.
