The story is set on a high school that the student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin rules by force. Wielding a giant Basami scissors sword, the wandering transfer student Ryuuko Matoi brings about upheaval on the campus. Ryuuko searches for the mysterious figure who caused her father's death, but confronting her are the student council's "four divine kings." Fortunately, Ryuuko is aided by a talking sailor uniform who tells her, "Wear me. When I am worn by you, this power will become manifest."
Someone had really hyped me for this anime.
I wasn't sure what to expect but wow, I wasn't let down.
Unique art style, the main character is a total badass. The story you can understand just from the first episode.
Must watch if you haven't already.
Laughed quite a bit at the comedy and the action is pretty good too.

Just have to say that first episode was amazing, hopefully its like that through the whole series and not just have episode 1 syndrome.

Oh I've been wanting to watch this after I saw the promo. It's made by the 2 same people who made Gurren Lagann * o*

Now I'm interested. Although, I gotta ask, is the anime heavy on fanservice?

Not really, there's a few scenes in the first episode.
But nothing to the level of like say, Highschool of the Dead or something.
There's just the part with the MC's suit and one where a girl is hanging upside down if I recall correctly

Inferno Cop saved anime. This and soon to be Space Dandy will make sure it'll stay like that for years. Trigger is so based.

I loved this episode so much. Really good action and comedy, kept me laughing throughout the whole episode!

For all the hype for Kill la Kill I wasn't really impressed. Nothing really stood out at all.
Only thing that was amazing was the fact that I think Trigger is using cell animation instead of digital.

Saving anime
Crap load of references to other anime (especially TTGL) and some Western media
Today's episode was solid

[S]Not that much at all[/S].
Props to her for managing to keep that adamant expression despite being molested by the uniform.

I tried to give this a chance but then I saw the outfit and instantly quit. I can take fanservice but this goes beyond my limit, unfortunately.

I dropped this after like episode 2, I liked the plot, characters, comedy and all that.. the fan service just ruined it for me though

I personally take the fanservice in Kill La Kill as a mockery to traditional fanservice since it's so over the top.
-
Murasaki wrote on 2013-11-16 08:00
Yeah. The problem is that when a lot of female outfits are already over the top, this isn't really successfully mocking them so much as just falling into the category.
Panty and Stocking had better outfits than this...lol.
My brain just can't stand the amount of stupid in a single outfit. Part of me wonders how much is really parody and how much is just an excuse.
