How to make Healers a viable sub-class in Mabinogi?

I agree with what most people are saying.
Healers really don't need any attack skills since Mabinogi is so open ended.
Myself I'm a Mage/Alchemist/Bard
I fight with my magic (I'm a giant but I have never touched a melee based weapon besides combat wand since G7.) Magical Giants FTW

As far as Bards go, I think bards would do very well with Golem summoning, Apparenlty golems are effected by Magical Music! ( I tested it out with my own golem using Passion of Youth Magical Music)
Just Summon a golem, start playing Seal of time(or Passion of Youth) Magical Music and start fighting.
I belive the taming scrolls are also buyable now, you can summon a pet, create a golem, and tame a monster and have your own personal army of animals!.

Also in G13, cant you..
Summon golem, and then use lure of ballad to lure a bunch of monsters.
Once all the monsters are lured near you use your golems windmill to finish them off?

Greatly change and buff Magic Shields while holding a Healing Wand? I mean, so far Magic Shields are really subpar that I don't see the harm in buffing them if you choose to be a "Healer" class. Mana Shield gets a buff while wielding a Healing Wand, so why not Magic Shields?

Like all Magic Shields having a bonus 50% dmg reduction while holding a Healing Wand. Plus double the time it remains up and you can run with it activated. That, and the Defense boost from Party Healing pretty much will take care of the party buff section for Healers, by giving them barriers.

Also, revives using MP with Healing Wand, please. Maybe allow Party Healing with Trinity Staff, but you would also need to activate it with the stage system by using regular Healing charges 5 times.

They'll all aggro you once the skill is over.

Have you not paid attention to the fact that things killed by golems will no longer give exp?

You can always just set anyone to finish, and then switch to regular character to get finish.

Didn't the range of party heal get increased? (Must test when i can get on)

Wouldn't this mean they don't even have to be in the same room, but close enough to soak exp. Without them being in the same room, they don't grab aggro, hence the part about healers needing protection is moot, and everyone gets healed plus the nice def boost. Totally OP, but 7 DKs in unlimted trans with a Master of Party Heal Around.

You can't heal through walls..

People mod the range of Healing and Party Healing. It can be infinite.

I think party heal is different from heal.

Party Heal works through Prov Walls, that much is all I know.

PHL has range mod? I don't think so...

The only good offense thing about being a healer as it is now is that there is an innate boost in your magic power as your int sky rockets. There is still, however, the fact that magic ultimately is not a very practical primary method of combat unless you know you can kill it in one shot (which is why I rank counter). Yes, you can go hybrid. But we go back to the issue of mana evaporation. I've seen suggestions of just switching weapons, and that's just stupid. The suggestion of having a self buff for only healing wands that gets rid of evaporation for the next switch is genius in my opinion. Problem: You would have to load and cast it, and what do you do when you're being aggro'd?

The fact of the matter is, if you start with healing like I did, your melee skills probably suck. My highest melee is defense followed by counter. When you get attacked by a monster, your naturally stronger magic skills are no longer a viable option. Blaze takes up massive MP and you need time to charge it. Mana shield takes up MP. Party heal takes up massive MP. I find my self constantly short of MP. I run around the dungeon room making sure my party members have their health so they can be reckless and stupid. But when I'm by myself I'm screwed. I can say that as a healer, I need an offense skill that doesn't take a long time to load with a lower mana cost than Blaze, even if it has a worse recovery time. Or, give regular healing wands upgrades to begin with, and include one where you can increase your mana recovery. I do realize there is meditation, but it doesn't work well at low ranks.
