Now that most people are done with their X/Y playthrough I'm sure plenty of us are building or planning on building our teams for competitive play. So I figure I make a thread discussing the competitive nature of pokeymen where people can post their teams and all that good stuff.
If you're posting a team please put them in spoilers and follow the format I've used below.
Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Pursuit
- Hammer Arm
Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Low Sweep
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Stone Edge
Volcarona @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
Cloyster @ King's Rock
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Hydro Pump
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Earth Power
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
So I've tested this team today and so far the only major thing fucking with my team is sticky web. Considering the only two pokemon on my team that can actually take a hit are Metagross (which I basically use as fodder to set up stealth and cripple any pokemon they decide to lead with) and Gastrodon everything else dies before they even get a chance to do anything.
Jw, can you remove sticky web with rapid spin? I may have to replace one of my pokes with a spinner as I didn't bother (stealth rocks only really fucks with my volcarona, which I usually only use to sweep 1 or 2 pokemen anyway.

Going from 4 perfect IVs to five and six is kind of torture. How many eggs do you reckon it takes on average to pass the traits, cause I'm up to about 150 eggs on my flinchkiss and I still can't seem to get it's speed to stick.

Are you doing it with this method?

Yessir.
Using that method I read somewhere that the probability is around ~2.5% Idk if it was true but the math seemed pretty legit so yeah

All I have to far is:
Noivern @ I dunno yet so people should help me

EVs: 252 Special attack/ 252 Speed/4HP
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Boomburst

i would say @timid or modest for your noivern whichever it needs more of spatk or spd wise, your attack set is good got STAB and coverage.
Lucario @ jolly
252 atk/252 spd/ 4hp item:salac berry (your choice what to use)
Extremespeed
Ice punch
Sword dance
close combat
I was thinking of making my Black2 Escavalier(Perfect Nature/EV/IVs) learn Infestation(When pokebank comes out), but it's hard to find a move to swap with it.
Item: Lum Berry - Ability: Swarm
Megahorn = Stab
Iron Head = Stab
Rest = Quick Recovery
Sword Dance = Buff
Infestation = DoT and disallows the target from escaping

I would keep frisk as there is no need for infiltrator if this noivern is meant to counter substitute users (boomburst bypasses substitute).

as long as you're up against a pokemon that doesnt have a fire attack you should be fine, escavalier is decent bulk(never personally used one), you could drop rest/lum berry, do infestation and leftovers/shell bell (since it will be attacking after swords) for recovery

Welp here is what I currently have on my team:
Sylveon
Nature: Calm
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EV: 252 Sp Atk, 252 Sp Def, 4HP
Moves:
Draining Kiss (Special/Stab/Healing)
Substitute (Survival)
Calm Mind (Draining Kiss Power + Survival)
Toxic
Role: Special Staller
Blastoise
Nature: Modest
Item: Blastoisinite or something else?
Ability: Mega Launcher (Mega form) Torrent (Normal form)
EV: 252 Sp Atk. 252 Speed, 4HP
Moves:
Water Pulse (120 Special Stab with Mega Launcher)
Surf (probably can swap out with iron defense or Steel Cannon for coverage)
Ice Beam (Coverage against possible threats)
Rain Dance (More power to water pulse/surf)
Role: Special Attacker
Tyranitar
Nature: Adamant
Item: Tyranitorite or Choice Scarf/Band
Ability: Sand Stream (May need to work around this or keep blastoise to wash it away)
EV: 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4HP
Moves:
Crunch
Earthquake (Smogon recommends pursuit but also can't easily get so earthquake it is)
Stone Edge
Brick Break (Can't easily get Super Power)
Role: Physical Attacker
Thinking of trying to get a Volcarona and then either a Skarmony or a Steel type with Levitate (Something that won't be weak to earthquake)

I run a trick room team(On black2) and he's one of the tankiest sweepers I have.
I suppose he could hold shellbell/leftovers, though another thing is, the Lum berry also protects him from burn status effect.

this is true, in the end it all falls down too what you like best and how well it works for you, test out both and see how well they each work (guessing TMs still work like they do in B/W)
