Alright so as for special gimmicks for the confirmed characters:
Futo: Has the ability to place plates around the stage and they may carry on to the next round. The longer they're in play, the greater their effects It's kind of muddy as to what happens next, either:
1. The plates can be broken by Futo to absorb their power after a period of time has passed
2. Work in conjunction with her skills for enhanced effects
3. Merely increase her power as time passes
Byakuren: Has very powerful skills but she needs a manual input from the player to chant before they can be used.
Miko: Her popularity changes the overall power of her attacks and skills

Her spirit gauge shows if your attacks are being buffed or nerfed.
Nitori: Has 999 battery count next to her spirit gauge which get consumed by skills and energy attacks (consumption probably differs depending on attacks). During battery consumption, spirit consumption is low but once it gets run out, spirit consumption is high and she may lose the ability to use some attacks. I'm not sure if the battery gets renewed on the next round. Nitori is also less affected by the mechanic that slowly pulls characters to the center of the screen and thus her attacks are more in a parabola and diagonal instead of attacking in front of her.
Reimu: Longer spirit gauge and can warp from one side of the screen to the other by double tapping once you're up against a wall.
Marisa: Every skill adds a star to her spirit gauge, once it's full, her next skill will be more powerful.
Ichirin: RAGE GAUGE!!!!! She turns red after she absorbs enough damage.
