Looks like this popularity contest was a train wreck. At least the one who I didn't want to win ended up not winning so I'm fine with this. Let's hope the winners live up to their respective awards.

...What? It's over? It's not the end of the year.
Congrats to the winners though.

I feel so much hate coming from this thread.
But in the end, just be happy we even had one this year.
I'd rather not even have one so the same events as last year didn't happen again.

Which begs the question of why we went through this ordeal in the first place?
This had bad vibes from the word "Go."

So if someone shoved a pile of shit into a someone else's face, you would come up and say "Be happy you had one"?

We went through the ordeal because Kenero spearheaded it and didn't want to see it not be held. Kenero can be quite persuasive and pushy to say the least when she feels strongly about certain things.
If the staff don't hold one next year, Kenero will be pushing to do it again next year.
Frankly, despite all the drama and crap we put up with to try and hold this Kenero is extremely pleased with how this went and will be more than happy to host it again.
So for that I greatly applaud the efforts of Kenero for helping make this happen and sticking it out. I also want to thank Yai for making this all possible. Without her hard work, we wouldn't have been able to do this.

There will be changes in the future, because the behavior of the community was cordial, and all of you voiced problems sincerely and with good points, I am glad to say that the community's cordial attitude is extremely different from previous year.
If was made strict to see how the community can handle it, and everyone did well. While there are complaints about the method, no one got flamed for winning or whined on who won. Even if you disagree, you were able to congratulate the winners and never had any personal fights that broke into a full blown battle.
I am glad to say that with everyone's attitude, I truly do believe that politeness is still in the Mabination spirit! If you guys behaved exactly like last year and complained about other people winning or flame those who try to campaign themselves (I don't care about complaints about the voting method, just those who complained who won or personal attacks on candidates), then it will show that it isn't the voting method but the community who cannot meet the maturity level and politeness to host one.
I also did not allow a change during the system, though you all did good job convincing me about the voting method, and I felt touch you put into a good argument your dislike about the system, but I wanted to see how it did.
Staff, during this whole process of end of the year award, people, though some were unhappy with the method, allowed themselves to vote, and honestly allowed it to take its course. They were polite, courteous, and there was no personal attacks on other members during this period.
This year was to show that the Mabination cordial spirit and politeness still exist. Because of such, in 2014, I want the staff to hold it, though if they do not, we will hold it again, but next year will be more relaxed... we will build up excitement, gag categories will be up... AND... we will go back to the old poll system and nomination we had in previous years.
You all passed in flying colors in being able to be polite, and I thank each one of you for letting us hold it and showing us that there is still spirit in Mabination. ^^
And of course, thanks to the KR Test Crew and especially Yai, who put effort to do all of this, and of course, you, Mabination Folks for voting and allowing this event to proceed and with honest but polite attitudes. Thank you.

Hows about we just don't have one?
Awards are useless anyway.

It's about the fun, not awards.

Nobody wanted one in the first place for a good reason. Awards are nothing but just e-peen expansions, same with reputation bar.
If you're a notable member of the community, you don't need to slap a big ass medal on your face saying the obvious thing. It's redundant and obnoxious.
