  It's true. There isn't much we could do. To be honest, we expected there to be a lot of negativity but I went along with Kenero's decision to do it. Kenero had her reasons for going straight to Osay especially considering how the poll was going at the time as Kenero wanted to keep tradition and if we went through Aishi or the staff it wouldn't have happened most likely. Frankly without Osay this place wouldn't exist to begin with so I think his say is as good as any in that regard.
  
  Anyways we tried our best and that's really all that matters. Next year we're just going to let the staff do it and keep focusing on providing you guys with up to date information on KR content ^_^.

  No one wanted to step up to the plate this year. No one wanted to host it. Everyone wanted to end a tradition.
  
  So we stepped up and decided that if no one will do it, we'll do it. We'll hold it. Nothing gets done if no one steps up, so we chose to step up.
  
  Now, next year, I hope to see the staff host it. It needs to be hosted by the staff, but because the current staff this year didn't want to, we held it.
  
  So I hope the tradition continues next year.
  
  While I do agree there could be a lot for improvement, at the same time, we put a lot of hard work to ensure the tradition continued.
  
  And here's an honest question. If we, the KR Team didn't try to continue the tradition this year, would the staff do it? Would anyone else?

  Not really, lmao. It's fun to do and the occasional drama that comes out of it is A+, but it's really not a big deal.

  Actually the badges were forcefully given to the winners and nobody asked them to use their free time to make the badges. It was their choice to spend their own time making the badges and if someone doesn't like them they have every right to complain about it. Nothing against the KR team and much respect to Kenero for all the contributions she has made towards mabination, but as Hanna said, if you can't handle criticism try not to go on the internet. Also try not to generalize a whole website to "mostly being a bunch of kids", insulting people won't get you anywhere.

  That's fair enough, we just wanted to ensure that tradition continued that's all. At least it gave you guys a break this year if nothing else and still upheld tradition.

  I honestly don't think so but Kenero values tradition a lot more by the sounds of it and I stand by her choice in the matter. If we had to do this again I wouldn't have done it any differently.

  Actually, the winners were PM'd to ask whether they wanted to accept their badge or pass it down to the next in line.

  I had ideas on how to do it but they were sloppy at best, so I'm glad someone else took it.

  Okay, I'm just going to sound bitter for saying this, but I was one day away from suggesting that I organize the end of the year awards, and have selected hosts help out. Had the whole event planned out.
  
  And then Osayidan gave the green light to the KR team.
  
  Osayidan is the final call, but this doesn't mean that he would not be influenced had I spoken to him about this beforehand. It is great that the KR team tried hard, and I can see their efforts too. But in the real world, trying does not equate to success. I'm not enough of a defeatist to simply say "at least we had an event, we should be grateful for that!" and move on.
  
  Of course, I don't want to linger on this topic any longer either. All I'm saying is, please include me in decisions like these next time. It can really interfere with work that could be occurring behind the curtain if someone does something without notifying me.

  Okay that's fair enough. Kenero took the reins a bit too eargly behind the scenes and had started making moves after the day the poll came out. I'll make sure she knows to keep you in the loop next time.

  The problem was the thread asking if we should hold it. The first post was filled with so much negativity, had an extreme bias that the staff and community members should not hold it, despite asking "should we hold it" it was like "we're not holding it, but you can vote still" type of vibe. It was completely bias.
  
  So I decided to hold it.
  
  I had no ideas Ashikoki would hold it, I do apologized, but I do ask that when staff ask poll about it, the opening post will be non bias and not lean towards what appears "an already made decision".
  
  It was because of that I went along with the plans.

  That poll was made without consenting me either. My staff team seems to have been deeply scarred by last year's events and were under the assumption that it will never happen again.

  As an outsider on the situation, I agree with you 100% on this. It was definitely a turn-off.
