I apologize if I offended you. It's fine, I can draw with color pencil. I was hoping you could allow black and white pencil drawing but I don't mean to spam your thread.

I don't think it'd be at all fair to the participants who already did follow the rules and colored their drawings for the contest to just make an exception and then all of a sudden allow black and white drawings.

Woah there. I don't think they meant any offense. I think they just thought it was a shame they couldn't join because of their preferred methods. They weren't exactly rude about expressing their opinion, either.

I do agree that changing the rules for someone would be unfair, though.

it's not so much about the fact that it's not rude because they didn't say it in a rude way, it's about the assumptions that you come in with when you make a post like that.

for one, if you didn't at all think the rules might change, why would you post it in the first place? if you did think i might change the rules, what part of that request would be fair to the people who did already submit their entry by following the rules? for all we know, there might have been other people who also preferred doing black and white drawings, but didn't say anything and went on with coloring and submitting their entry anyway.

i could understand if a post like that was made near the beginning of the contest and barely anyone had started or entered, but it's a few days from the end, and a comment like that with the expectation that a rule MAY change near the end wouldn't be fair to anyone else who already entered or are already in the middle of finishing up their submission.

Again I really don't mean to cause distress, I should've thought this through before posting. Internet is not a kind place, and I understand sometime you have to be on guard or people will troll you, but I hope you can see that I am not trying to say anything bad about your contest or the rules. You have your difficulties trying to maintain a fair contest, it was my bad asking for a rule change.
