I pretty much knew from the start that Encore was going to be useless, especially after the changes they made to Phantasmal Chorus. Singing, on the other hand, is actually extremely useful and i'm glad to know that its music buff effect will improve music performed by an instrument.
The only thing I really wanted to know about Phantasmal Chorus was whether or not Music Buff Effect and Music Duration Effect influenced Ode of Sigh and Hymn of Life. I believe Kenero posted a video showcasing Hymn of Life with Meditation activated but Enduring Melody was also used, essentially nullifying the results of the test. This could be alternatively validated through Ode of Sigh on Possessed Bone Monsters, though I won't ask you guys to look into this matter once more with the actual patch hitting NA in a few days.
I really wish that Encore was more useful.

So Phantasmal Chorus bonus X stacks onto Normal Bonus Y?
X+Y = New bonus from thereon or mic + instrument?
Nope, instrument/mic/handless buffs do not stack with Phantasmal Chorus buffs, if that's what you were asking.. If you phantasmal chorus with Battlefield then somebody else uses Vivace normally, you lose both Battlefield and the phantasmal-exclusive buff.
Using battlefield with phantasmal shouldn't make the battlefield better than if it were used by itself.
Pretty much the only point of this skill left is Ode and Hymn, which were "okay cool then" side things at first, imo. I wouldn't waste AP on JUST Hymn/Ode, personally. Especially since hero skills do not give talent experience.

So, sorry if this was clearly expressed already, but singing adds +15 music buff with/without singing?
>You can get a 30% music buff effect from skills then?

It should be 15 music buff from singing only applies to microphone singing and 15 from playing instrument only applies to instruments, but it is currently glitched so that the 15 from both r1 skills applies to both.

As long as this bug has been present, what are we basing it actually
being a bug on? ie: how do we know it's a bug and not actually how it's supposed to work?

No idea, I'll ask Kenero and get back to you on that.

Idk... With singing stacking with playing instrument ur looking at easy 50% BFOs.... I'm not sure such a thing should be intended.

Possibly, but it's something we shouldn't have to assume either way. There should be a definitive answer regarding how it was intended to work so we can determine if it is in fact a bug, or simply OP.

Well with all the new skills devCat keeps throwing at us for our disposal, I wouldn't be surprised if it was intended....

There was once a GM blog stating that it is an issue that music buff from singing stacked with playing instruments, but it will be pretty hard to find it, since GMs on KR tend to post a lot of blogs daily, it would be pretty hard to fish out since they tend to blog even small impromptu events.
However, the buff stacking is present in JP when they got it, so assuming since JP got it, and KR still has it, I will assume we will get it too.
I am not against having a better musical effect. Would love to see my overture rise.

Hmm. Based on the time and the scope of it, if we get it "broken" too I'm going to go with "Working as intended until they change it". Excessive as it seems, it's still more or less one of the only values the skills bring. It may very well have been an unintended effect they decided to keep after seeing how it little impact it had and that it made people happy.

I rather they fix the other problem with Musical Knowledge having no baring on increased performance quality.

Point, but the "i wish they'd fix" list is probably near infinite at this point.

No doubt. The life drain glitch, the wall glitch, the party quest glitch, they need to fix that but at this point, they probably have a point of no return to where if no fix is found within a reasonable timeframe, it's put in a "development" pocket to never see the light of day again.

Devcat is shite.. its not even nexon, freaking devcat. I don't understand how you can make such a nice game and then fuk it up. Oh wait, they changed the stupid director every chapter and let them do whatever the freak they wanted
