Anyone *sniff sniff* feeling the same as me when you hear this?

I want these days back.
I hope the next update makes Mabinogi fun again.
If not, I'm quitting for good.

AHHHHHHH SOMEONE POSTS THIS EVERY MONTH/FEW MONTHSSSS
and all the feels come back every time ;~;
I'll always be disappointed in how features that were very relevant or had a lot of fun value in G1-G3 just kind of disappeared as Mabinogi moved along like NPC friendships, part time jobs, secret role playing quests etc. I really miss the old days, but I'm fond of what we have now as well.
Nostalgiaaa

Every update adds a lot of fun to Mabinogi until people got used to content.
If you want that song on the intro, just swap that song in the MP3 folder.
Mabinogi long ago was just bad compared to now. That is a good thing since it means that the updates are improving the game each time.

I agree.
Nostalgia is a huge bitch.
Thankfully I started playing during G7 so I can laugh at all of the people who suggest things like "Project Reset".

Different strokes for different folks, Mabinogi back in the day had a certain charm to it that brought in ALOT of players. Although it probably repelled just as many people too. Getting a whole party together and spending 10 minutes trying to kill an ogre back when I was 13 is still one of my fondest memories of Mabinogi. I realize most of it is just nostalgia, but moments like that really made Mabi something special.

Or when obtaining final hit used to be an accomplishment and using it made u feel godly (not to mention the effects on it were amazing). Or or or, when doing g1 final you used tactics and you couldnt ohko the boss and u had to utilize everything at ur disposal just to stay alive.
nostalgia ;~;

mabinogi certainly had a unique charm to it that it has seem to lost now, perhaps that charm would be the unity of the players/more tightly knit community? i remember the players being more willing to come together and play together, ciar runs all day everyday.
now that doesn't seem to be a thing. i can certainly agree i did not like constantly dying to goblins and whatnot, and the games much 'better' now than it was when it was younger. (i still think the game needs a rebalance... but that's a topic for another day)
maybe that's just me, but i think that charm mabinogi once had was the community being more in touch with itself.

I don't know about the "ALOT" of players part. You cannot even rebirth unless you pay money for it, and that means your character will stop growing at one point. Not to mention, leveling was much harder as well as getting AP. You can't even do the storyline without paying. Mabinogi was a pretty unknown game back then, and it is still a pretty unknown game right now.
You can always recreate most of that moment by just creating an alt.

It's really not the same at this point >.>

Any new player now will feel the same way anyone did when they first started out.
It was exciting, intimidating, and not knowing anything about the game gave a sort of "lost in a huge world" feel.
The difference now is that you've gained knowledge about the game, so you lost your excitement and feelings of being lost.
So really, it's just your mind that changed.

Ahhh, Ciar Int for 4 solo, how I've missed you. Legitly took 30~45min per floor where I was at the time.
Though evil goblin archers in Ciar Normal solo have transcended into Shadow Archers in HM.
Looking back, we've come a loooong way.

This game has came such a long way since i've started.
Back then, I used to think that hitting 1k damage was a lot...

I used to think anyone with the Bear/Golem Slayer with a Single Blow title was a god way back then.
AND GARGOYLES. GARGOYLES WERE SUCH JERKS.

The community wasn't so close knit because they actually were more friendly back then, it was because the craptastic dungeon system was the ONLY way to get exp/gold back then. The only way to get even decent exp was to get the upper level ciar dungeon passes which encouraged spamming the normal version over and over. Looking back, it was nice seeing so many people gathered in one place but it was pretty dull spamming the same dungeon over and over until you finally got a ciar basic pass.
Sure old mabi had a certain charm to it, but lets not kid ourselves, old mabi had major major problems that if you were to look at objectively, it was a pretty shitty back then even by the standards of that time. I'm willing to bet without the fact it piggybacked off of the maplestory fanbase, the audience was young, and it looked pretty good for a f2p mmo, mabinogi would have been shutdown a long time ago.
