  There is. But obviously still doesn't hit higher. That's the limit of beam swords, hence why they're not great weapons (still decent early-mid game weapon). There's another decent user, but he still falls behind in damage. He still hits alright, much higher than rest of the beam users.
  
  There's only select few that can hit as high, but to say that they will hit higher would be a lie. Among the much better ones, they still can't hit higher than my mediocre lance damage. I know some of them have switched to lance by now for obvious reasons.

  If you look at it another way it could also be a way to ensure their sale. Other people who have the same item could possibly contact the bidder and sell it to them instantly or for cheaper leaving the original seller with a lower offer or none at all.

  Generally the stuff I bid on isn't that commonly sold but kind of highly sought after by the general community so I don't really think that's much of an issue... who knows.

  Yeah, one time I got a dragon eye from desert dragon and got the c/o up to 25m then told one of the bidders the other bidder and they both retracted their offer bringing me down to 16m. I was a stupid 16 year old lacking common sense back then so I didn't realize I could've just held out (I had the only eye on the server, and it was highly sought after) and the offer would've went back up for sure, but yeah.
  
  Since then I don't disclose who has bid what, if the person doesn't trust that there is another person with a legitimate offer there's nothing I can do. Better safe than sorry.

  I don't like doing it because I'm afraid people might harass them to make them retract their offer. It just doesn't set well with me is all.

  I feel like when they do that, they're trying to bid you up. If someone is trying to get rid of something, I don't think knowing who you're bidding against will ruin the sale o.e

  In some cases, yes people are trying to bid you up, but in most the current offer/bidder's name is withheld due to someone trying to steal the buyer or other circumstances (which I can't really think of right now)
