I always use
ROTTEN TOMATOES to check out movies before I watch them.
For comparison, Inception is 87% and Despicable me is 79% approval.
The Expendables only got 39% approval.
Consensus: It makes good on the old-school action it promises, but given all the talent on display, The Expendables should hit harder.
Vampires Suck only has 37 reviews but only one of them is fresh, so it has 3% approval.
Consensus: Witlessly broad and utterly devoid of laughs, Vampires Suck represents a slight step forward for the Friedberg-Seltzer team.
Honestly don't pay a cent to see Vampires Suck :|

Expandles if you came to see people bleeding die and heads flying then you what you payed for
I cant blame the tomate reviews
Some of characters were under used or in wrong roles
Still plenty of guns, expolsions and deaths

I don't really trust Rotten Tomatoes on movies that you just want to have fun watching. I thought the A-Team and Rush Hour 2 were great action comedy movies, but they were slammed with ~50% ratings on that site.

Arsik, yes you are right about Hollywood's take on parodying movies, but there has to be a time when people say enough is enough and stop seeing these movies. If Vampires suck would have been 30min long with only their best scenes then it would have been great, in fact they could have done that with all their movies and put them onto 1 dvd instead of making a story out of them and i would have seen it.

this is relevant to what i was saying the onion got it right.
and brad even if a movie is stupid funny it isnt truly funny, the guys who made these movies need to stop and be shot in the face at pointblank range.

Yeah^
Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie, and now this.
The trailer ends up being the only funny parts, the rest of the movie ends up failing.
People need to stop making these parody movies >:|

So that means Will Ferrell's movies aren't truly funny then?

I don't know a Will Ferrell movie that doesn't mainly use stupid humor.

Will Ferrell is only good as a supporting comedian/ actor and not as a main actor watch him in "stranger than fiction" great movie.

Vampires Suck wasn't funny. There were parts that were amusing, but I barely laughed at all.
Scott Pilgrim, on the other hand, was an awesome movie. I read all six of the books beforehand, and while the movie did deviate a fair amount from the books, it didn't deviate in a bad way. Lots of movie adaptations of books deviate in horrible ways, but this one didn't. It had its dorky parts, but I think that was just Michael Cera playing his part well.
