I have got a new laptop now as the previous one was very old.
I learned that in the recent laptops there is one video card (Nvidia Geforce GT 750M) and one GPU in the Intel processor (i7 4700 Haswell) to perform graphical operations.
My problem is whenever I open Mabi, the Nvidia Geforce GT 750M video card does not activate and Intel is used for Mabi.
The laptop gets very hot after 1 hour of playing Mabi since the fans are not enough to cool down the Intel processor. I think if Nvidia video card is activated, the computer won't get that hot.
There was not a problem like this in my previous 5 year old laptop as it does not have switch-able video card with the Intel processor, the ATI video card in that always works whether it is a game or just lightweight applications; and the fans work well to cool down the video card.
I think this might be a problem for every new laptop model. Is there any solution for this?

update your drivers?

The intel gpu is integrated right? Couldn't you just disable it via device manager and then the only possible graphics card available would be your dedicated nvidia one
If you don't feel like disabling it, is there an option to select the graphics card in the mabinogi options?

I'm not sure as I have mine disabled so only my dedicated card shows up in the list

I opened the options in Mabinogi game it only shows:
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 DISPLAY
So I guess I need to disable it. But which device exactly should I disable in the device manager?
Thanks for the answers.

Well if you have a dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA) and the integrated gpu (intel), under the display adapters category, the only options should be nvidia and intel, you'd disable the intel one since it's the one you don't want to use. If you have proper drivers installed, the options should even specifically state the model numbers as well. Also there's a way to do it in BIOS if I'm not mistaken, but do whatever is easier for you! I would also recommend if possible to have all driver software installed for your dedicated graphics card before finally disabling the integrated one.

I have upgraded all the drivers both the intel and the dedicated drivers.
I disabled the intel one from the device manager under display adapters.
I am in the game now.
It only shows "Microsoft Basic Render Driver DISPLAY" in the Video Card option in Mabinogi System->Video settings.

According to google. I don't have this issue and have never seen it (windows 7, computer is around 3 years old now) so there's not much I can do, but hopefully something like this will point you in the right direction
Also this might be fairly obvious but I think it's a good idea to ask because you answered pretty quickly, but a computer restart might help as well
From this point on I won't be able to offer you any viable or 100% working solutions. Someone else (if they can) will have to assist you with that if you can't figure it out yourself. I've said all I know, sorry!

I have this issue on my brother's new leptop (Nvidia Geforce GT 750M and i7 4700 Haswell like your). Whenever I run mabinogi, the game failed to recognize the Nvidia GPU.
But after I investigated the Nvidia GPU. It's still working as the Mabinogi failed to recognize the Nvidia GPU, and the game running smoothly as if the Nvidia GPU is working. So I have no problem running the game in window mode.
Some topic I found, they say that Mabinogi recognize the GPU before the game start. So, new computer this day that have 'Optimus' technology will not be able to start the real GPU (Nvidia) as Optimus will activated the Nvidia GPU after the program start. That is why the game failed to recognize the GPU.
Now that I think, even the game failed to recognize the GPU that used on rendering the game. The real GPU (Nvidia) still running so the game will running smoothly without any problem.
Edit :
Now that your computer got very hot when play Mabinogi for 1 hour? I've play the Mabinogi for about 30 minute and did not found any heat issue (sorry, I can't really played it for hour). Maybe your computer position is bad? Since I have my laptop about 3 - 5 cm above the table

Ever tried telling Nvidia to do the job instead of telling Mabi to choose? Mabi has never been a great listener. You can do so through the Nvidia control panel and such.
As for overheating issues, try updating your bios from the supplier you purchased from. It's the bios which controls how the fan operates.
Not sure which supplier you got it from but Acer has a long known history of overheating laptops depending on the make.

Firstly, I'm telling Nvidia to do it's job ... and it did great.
BUT!! as I tell you in the previous reply that 'Optimus' will not start the Nvidia GPU unless needed. That is why the game failed to recognize the Nvidia GPU. And if I remember correctly, there is one maintenance that adding the new GPU profile list to the Mabinogi program and have better recognition of switchable GPU ... Still, Nvidia GT 750m is a new model. The game may not have the database on that yet.
Secondly, I don't know about
Krito laptop brand. But my brother using
Lenovo. Maybe that is why my brother laptop have no issue on heat problem.

The brand is Asus N550JV. The output for the heat is not on the left (as in most other brands), the heat is directed to the screen like a macbook.
The fan works, and I also used some testing methods to ensure that the Nvidia card works. But it is getting too hot and this Asus model is made for multimedia/gaming.
The previous laptop is some 4-5 year old Toshiba with the heat output on the left side of the computer. I tried playing on it too yesterday but it didn't get that hot.

I have check the 'Asus N550JV' series (They have 2 series that have 'N550JV' model. The down-grade and normal one). The tester has been test with game that running about 50% - 70% of CPU power. The heat result is acceptable at around 70 - 75 degree celsius (152 - 168 degree fahrenheit). The GPU heat is around 55 degree celsius (130 degree fahrenheit). Which is normal for laptop, but the tester did add Cooling pad underneath the laptop to decrease the heat. So normal heat should be around 5 degree higher then the tested result.
This model was not the gaming model as there was no extra fan, and the ventilation was bad. Since the heatsink and the fan is underneath the laptop. You should add some space to the laptop and your table (Using anything is good as long as your laptop have the space underneath the laptop). You should experience less heat and fan speed should reduce due to less heat accumulation and good ventilation.

The only way to reduce the heat in this model.
So, the heat problem maybe from bad ventilation not the game itself.

Yeah, I have a laptop with that awful "optimus" crap in it, and Mabi doesn't find the nvidia GPU even though the game is clearly using it because the performance increase is very obvious. As said, there's not really any reason to worry about it even if Mabi can't detect the nvidia. See for yourself the difference in performance between your intel and your nvidia (for example, try running Mabi both with and without the nvidia driver installed), and use that to make sure it's on the nvidia. After that, all you need to worry about is working on the heat problem. Your laptop seems to have been made poorly when it comes to getting rid of the heat, even though you're using some very expensive shit. That's a real shame. Next time you might want to do some more research when picking out a computer.

Actually gaming was not my first reason while getting this laptop as it has the best laptop screen in the market nowadays, it was bought for work. But since even the 5 year old laptop didn't give any problem with Mabinogi I thought any new computer won't have any problem.

It looks optimized to over heat xD. (Not joking thats a HORRIBLE spot for vents)
@OP you can do some custom drilling and make some areas for teh heat to escape but laptops generally have over heating issues when it comes to games pretty much regardless of what your using.
Also do you even need to display it through Nvidia? Unless your actually getting FPS lag I don't see much need (also a lot of lag is client sided when it comes to FPS). In a lot of cases the client simply can't handle it. Nvidia also isn't picked up on my computer unless I'm running on a monitor.
