Can't play Mabi with a new computer! Help?

  As wildk said, you can set Mabinogi (and other programs) to force launch using the nvidia GPU (or the intel one if you'd rather that). You can do this in the nvidia control panel. If I remember correctly, Mabinogi's process name is client.exe, so you need to set that to use the nvidia card. You can also display and icon to show you when the nvidia GPU is in use, so you know if it's actually on or not.
  
  This is not optimus's fault, it is Mabinogi's crappy ass client.

  Under 2. on the image, you can switch it to auto-select or force it to use one of the two cards.
  
  For turning on the little icon, under the nvidia control panel click the desktop drop down menu at the top and make sure "Display GPU Activity Icon in Notification area" is selected. Now, you should have an icon in your display area in the bottom corner of your screen that looks like this:

  When you run a program that uses the nvidia card, the icon will change to look like this:

  Hopefully that is some kind of help. I noticed some people were mentioning it and not working, but mine works just fine. I wasn't sure if you did these steps or knew about it, so just trying to offer some insight! :)

  TBH, Optimus did lower the performence of the GPU. Most of the model that do not have Optimus will did a better job then laptop model that have Optimus. I can say that, the real laptop gaming model should not have Optimus in it. But the gaming model that don't have Optimus will need a better energy souce. The battery will not be able to supply enough power to GPU and when running on battery the performence will extremely drop. The battery will also wear out really quick.
  
  That is why most of all-round laptop will have 'Optimus' in it. When you're running on normal windows programs. They will using lower-quality and less energy-eating Integrated Intel GPU. It's an energy efficiency for all-round laptop model. When you running on programs that using a lot or need a lot of GPU power (like rendering or gaming), the 'Optimus' will automatically switch to Nvidia GPU. And the GPU will start eating energy to do it's job.

  This logic was not 100% true. But I can't denied that, since we have a better performence and better calculation speed. Playing the old game that do not know the new technology will have no problem? The answer is 'No'. That is why newer windows version still have option to running the program in old way, to support the old program that do not know what technology is here now.

  You know, I'd be totally fine with that "optimus" crap if they would actually support other operating systems with it than just windows 7+.
  
  They have made some very poor effort in developing something for Linux (as far as I know it is still not usable as a solution for optimus support), and they took so long just to do that, that even before nvidia started this poor effort, some people had already made a free software solution of their own. The user-driven project is great and all, but it does not completely fix the issue, and it should not be necessary in the first place.
  
  And I'm not going to discuss whether you should be using Windows XP or not, but some people just want to use it instead and they have their reasons, and if you have this crap then you completely lose access to the nvidia GPU while running XP (there is no option at all that will allow you to enable use of it, save for coding some kind of solution yourself).
