I overpowered him. I had overpowered him and he knew it.
"It's over for you," I said calmly, "Quit now before it gets worse."
He chuckled. He didn't fear me. I don't know what exactly did he fear, if anything at all. All I knew is that he wasn't gonna give in. Despite the multiple injuries he already had, he started rushing towards me with his skeletal weapon.
"DIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!" he yelled.
"You fool."
I quickly unlocked the power of the Goddess, whose force pushed him violently against the castle wall, stopping his offense. Elegant wings then emerged from my back and an aura of silver surrounded my body.
He looked up, unamazed. Half his face dripping blood; the other half, decayed-- an angry skull that looked back at me with such remorse. I had taken everything from this knight--his race, his pride--and I could not even begin to imagine how.
But he blamed me. And my Goddess.
"You've... given in to Her," he murmured.
He was in no condition to continue the fight, but struggled to get up.
"I will defeat you. I will kill Morrighan and take back my pride... I will defeat you!"
The Python Knight placed his arms together, slowly forming a large, dark orb. I didn't know exactly what it was, but I knew I needed to be careful.
"Knight of Light!" he screamed, "Perish now!!"
He launched the blast at me. I tried to avoid it, but to no avail. The darkness engulfed me and I quickly started feeling weak. I heard him chuckle loudly as my energy drained.
I needed to do something, but what? My wings were disappearing. What could I possibly do?
"Spear of Light!"
I raised my hand to the air, forming a sharp line of light and I released it towards him, as a last attempt to save myself. I fell to my knees, losing my transformation, but the darkness had disappeared. I could finally breathe again.
I looked to him and he was also on his knees. My spear had impaled and burned through his heart. I had been close to death, but finally I had won the battle. But I didn't feel happy.
"Amusing."
"What is?" I replied.
"You're a... worthy opponent," he struggled to explain, "But you fight... for all the wrong reasons."
"Morrighan wants to save us all," I told him. "Why couldn't you understand that? Why did you have to oppose us?"
"You are naive, boy... you're being... used... can't you see?"
I shook my head and chuckled at the nonsenses this dying knight was spewing out.
"She's using you, just like she once used Cichol to destroy my race and I. But She grew fearful of Him. Oh, she did. And when he became too powerful, she used you to destroy Him..."
"You are a f***ing LIAR!!"
I rushed at him and stabbed him with my sword. Anger had gotten the best of me.
He screamed in pain. Blood covering most of his armor. Still, however, he maintained that mischievous smile. He looked at his bloody hands and then up to the dark sky.
"But Morrighan, my Goddess... there was never a paradise....."
He fell to the floor, finally dead. I fainted soon afterwards from exhaustion.

It was really late that night. A little windy, but that was usual weather in Tir Chonaill.
You'd hear the chickens get into fights with the foxes who sneaked into the henhouse occasionally, but besides that, no sound but the gentle whisper of the wind.
Grandpa owned a lot of hens. When he was younger, he always wanted to have a huge farm with lots of animals. He particularly had grown quite fond of chickens, so he raised many of them in his backyard. Good source of food and companionship, he always said.
I didn't like chickens. They used to sh*t everywhere and were so bothersome to deal with. Oh, and there was that odd cat my Granpa also owned. Bob? I don't know what was its real name, but I always called it "the cat." It would sit next to you and stare at you sometimes. Weird cat.
My only close friend in town sat atop my desk every night. Who would've known she'd be the first one to witness that event that night?
"Wake up! Wake up!!" a little girl's voice yelled at me from the window. "Come on, Virtue! Wake the hell up! It's important."
Someone tugged at me from my right side.
"Oh come on, David... can you please stop playing that horrible music...?" I said, still asleep.
"VIRTUE, WAKE UP!!!!" the voice yelled.
I instantly got up from my bed, still half-asleep and rubbed my eyes.
"It's three in the morning, Sin," I said. "I'm not in the mood for games tonight..."
I kept yawning while the little fairy kept pointing out the window.
"Look at that! What is that?" she yelled. "Do you see that light in the sky?"
I was startled a bit by how scared Sin sounded. I looked out the window and there was a huge ball of fire falling from the sky.
"Holy ****! I think that's a com--!"
A large explosion was seen from northeast of town near the Ciar mountains. The whole town's lights went on and everyone came out of their houses to see what all the ruckus was about.
I heard my Grandpa come out of his bedroom and rush towards mine. Sin quickly disappeared into the sword as he came in.
"Virtue! Are you okay?!" he yelled. He saw me hiding under the desk.
"I'm fine... what was that?"
"It looks like it might have been a comet," he explained. "The explosion caused a huge fire in the mountains and it needs to be put out before it spreads around this area..."
"What are you gonna do?!"
"I'm gonna go help out as much as I can, but I want you to stay here. Alright?"
"But, but--"
"Virtue, if anything were to happen to you, I could never forgive myself. Stay here and that's an order."
Granpa Duncan was always so protective of me ever that Goblin Raid that occurred 5 years ago. Grandpa protected me with his life and suffered horrible injuries for doing so; they still affect him to this day. But the cane looks great on him-- it makes him command so much attention. He's a true leader of this town. Everyone looks up to him.
"Please be safe, Grandpa," I urged him. "I need you too."
He smiled and grabbed his cane. "I'll be back soon, my son."
I saw him gather outside with some people of the neighborhood. Malcomn, the general store owner, was bringing out many buckets and hoses from his warehouse, while Ferghus supplied the team with cheap knives for cutting through vines and branches.
Oh, that Ferghus. I recall a rumor about him that ran about town. That his wife had died and he drank even while working. No wonder no one repaired at his place. How did he manage to run that place anyway? Beats me.
"Is he gone?" the little fairy girl reappeared in the room.
"He's gone."
She sat next to me at the window and watched all the commotion. No one knew about spirit weapons too much, so I had to keep her hidden. She was a fiesty little one too. Didn't want her starting too much trouble around town.
"Do you see that?" I pointed towards a ray of light that emerged from Ciar.
"Wow! It's pretty!" she said. "It reminds me of one of those techno dance clubs in Dunbarton!! Can we go one day? Can we goooo?"
I ignored her and instead feared for my Grandpa.
"I think we better go out there."
"But Duncan said--!"
"I know, but I have a bad feeling..."
She gave me the thumbs up and laughed. "YAY ADVENTURE! Plus, I'm tired of being cooped up in this old house... gosh, you guys really need a woman around here..."
She examined the dusty table to the right of the desk and shook her head. "Men."
"You think David's awake?" I looked at her and asked.
"Pshhh, that boy sleeps through it all."
"He may know a thing or two about what's happening though. I mean, he's always buying and reading books from Aeria."
"Aeria of Dunbarton?" Sin asked. "Did I ever tell you how much I.hate.that.b*tch."
I glared at her.
"What? She thinks she's such a goodie two-shoes! I can't stand it!"
"Let's go, Sin."
I put on a robe and sheathed my two swords. Sin held on tight to my shoulder as I jumped out my bedroom window and ran towards David's house. If there anyone who could help me figure things out, it was him.
