  Chillax there sir. Yeah I know it sucks when humanity shows it's true form right? Survival of the fittest, every man for himself. These are all basic human behaviors. It's all natural and to be honest just because it's the "holiday season" doesn't mean people will stop their true nature from being released. I don't like it either but I have also come to the realization that everyone (some more than others) are only looking out for themselves and literally do not give a damn about others.

Honestly, stop trying to push your own ideals about what you think is right or wrong on other people because it wont go anywhere.   Not directing the above at anybody in particular, but it's really annoying how when bad things happen to SOME PEOPLE, they instinctively (yes, don't try to be a retard and argue that you would be perefectly fine if you soiled your favorite outfit, or someone decided to key your car for funsies) feel like they've been wronged. But when bad things happen to other people whom they know NOTHING ABOUT, they don't feel shit. They even go as far as to criticize the person (again whom they know NOTHING ABOUT) for being stupid and deserving of bad happenings. Like I said. At least TRY to sympathetic, because it really can make all the difference sometimes. And really, if you like making others feel bad just for the heck of it? Fuck you.
  
  MMO or not, this person was clearly upset. Yes, they made a silly mistake (which I'm sure they will learn from), but the "thief" really could have made a better choice.

  Granted, I do believe the person who took the clothing's action is wrong, and that's my opinion. Even though I don't agree with Genny's opinions, I can see the logic. Everyone has different opinions, and move on. This is just a fucking video game.
  
  Also, to compare the death of a family member or losing something precious would be different than the situation here. A mere piece of virtual clothing can't be as important as another family member or your real life goods, so comparing those two would be illogical. You clearly misunderstood what people are trying to say here, we're not trying to "deny" that what the person did was wrong, but rather, stating the fact that this right and wrong is personal opinion. I, for one, think what the person who took the clothes did is wrong and ill-minded, but we can't really change the fact that it's part of human's natural greed that might be more prevalent in some than others. Nothing you can do about it really, just don't pay attention to it.

  You're missing the point. Your analogy doesn't work because you're comparing real life situation with online game situation. You can't compare the death of a loved one or losing critically important real life item with a virtual game item... especially an item that't not even worth much. And again, you can't use the homeless analogy, because that is completely unrelated and off-topic. Being sympathetic or not, again, isn't something you can just tell people to do. For some people, they will still "try" and still might not meet your expectation.
  
  Granted, what the victim did is a mistake. If you made a mistake, would you really expect to be criticism-free? Even though the victim didn't really know what she was doing, she's still prone to criticism, because that's how society works. Yes, the thief could have done better, but it's also upto the society to criticize him or not. Personally, I criticize both, and that's what it seems like for many others in this thread too.

Not only that, but what is considered right and wrong morally was created by society, it is not fact as much as it has been drilled into us for centuries so as to create a more stable environment with order and structure. There is no right or wrong in this type of situation, it is entirely up to personal discretion, however people must face the consequences of their actions where rules exist and take into account the risks and benefits. This game unfortunately does not really have such rules put in place with stable punishments for breaking those non existent rules, so technically that person that stole isn't in the wrong as much as they have people that dislikes the action they performed.
