Raids and you

  Regardless of the server you are in, you should be doing raids. They are easy money making tools and don't require many people to take down. A party of ~5 mediocre players is enough to take down any raid apart from black and white dragon, it's pretty sweet.
  
  Let me outline why you should be doing raids:
  
  So far in Mabinogi there are a total of 11 raid bosses. I like to categorize them into 4 separate categories
  
  1. Big dragons (White/Black dragon)
  2. Small dragons (Red/Desert/Prarie dragon)
  3. Desirables (Gator/Sandworm)
  4. Undesirables (other ones)
  
  Now, everyone knows about black/white dragons being very stronk but giving you a chance at some super rare items. BUT, apart from Alexina (and even within Alexina sometimes) there is a serious lack of people doing the other raids.
  
  Let me start off with the benefits of small dragons with some simple math. There are 3 small dragons in total, and each of them calculate the amount of gold you are given the same way (contribution*7). Lets say you're doing some weekend raiding and the desert dragon spawns on all channels, and you get an average of 4200 contribution each time.
  
  4200*7 = 29400, now multiply that by 7 for killing a dragon on all channels and you have 205k made within 30 minutes.
  
  Now, say you go to all small dragon spawns on a saturday, that is 3 (number of dragons) * 2 (times in the day each dragon spawns) * 7 (amount of channels), that is 42 dragons.
  
  Now multiply 29400 (the amount of gold earned on average from each dragon) by 42, you've just made 1.23mil (plus 205k worth of npc-able gold bags) in one day from some of the easiest content on mabi. Use fine crystals and you've made 2.47m (plus 412k worth of npc-able gold bags) in one day. These raids do not take up alot of time, and dragons will spawn within 30 minutes on weekends.

  Now, I've talked about the guaranteed gold reward, but red/desert dragon have some rare items that can sell for quite a bit. Desert dragons drop solo ES (3m in alexina, 15m+ in other servers) and marble armors (500k in alexina, 1m+ in other servers) among other items (avenger items, boiling items, blah blah). Red dragons drop beholder shields, medal ES, and violet burns out the ass too. Let me tell you, once you start raiding you'll have a shitload of money and you won't even know how!!!!
  
  As for gator, its gold is calculated with contribution*4, but you'll always get full contribution on this bad boy, unless you're repping 200 max or something.
  
  Sooo 4500*4=18k, multiply that by 7 for the amount of channels and then again by 2 for the number of times it spawns in the day and thats 252k (plus 69k worth of npc-able gold bags), but it drops things such as encore burns like crazy (500k in alexina, 1m+ in other servers) which is very cute and makes gator worth doing.
  
  Now sandworm, it's gold is bullshit so I won't even mention it. But the good thing about sandworm is it's beautiful drop table. Sandworm will drop fierce burns, thief burns, used ES, etc and takes like 3 minutes to kill. Just do it.
  
  [SIZE="5"]All the raids I have just mentioned (apart from Red dragon) can be manipulated so they are stuck and all you have to do is spam smash over and over. This is what makes raids so amazing, you're basically doing nothing!   Undesirables are the other ones that are just too hard to kill (no pattern) or don't have any good drops, people used to do lions for boiling ES but you can get it easier from other places. Nobodies got holy water for that shit.
  
  Now that you know all this why wouldn't you raid!!!?!?!?!?! All it takes is a couple of buddies or guild-mates and all these raids bosses will be your bitch! I also try to do raids on the weekdays and sometimes all we have is 3 people and we still raid life like theres no tomorrow, so it's definitely possible!
  
  TL;DR: Guaranteed 3m+ every weekend (or 6m+ with crystals) from easy content

  My friend and I tried going to the black dragon raid for the quest, and decided to check the dragon out... then it ended up becoming a suicide mission where we lasted about 5 seconds and got killed by the minions. The dragon didn't even notice me when I hit it. :(
  It just barely noticed my friend, though, so she was happy about that. "Senpai noticed me :D", she said.

  To be fair, you should set the estimate at 4000 contribution since getting the smash requirements is extremely difficult.
  
  Edit: Oh and deduct for the price of crystals, but add for the price of bags. Depending on your normative account, you should also deduct your taxes. If you really want to get it right, you should add in the repairs of the weapons you bring as well as holy water costs if applicable. Fortunately, a lot of people can get through raids with really cheap weapons and no other equipment so dying shouldn't be such an issue. I'll post an analysis later on, count on it sir!

  Not enough people. Soloing takes way too long.
  
  Doing SMs can give more than 200k in 30 minutes, and better experience. Although, this isn't really a factor.
  
  Again, the main problem is just... not enough people. Most Raids don't have good rewards anyways. Also, it is discouraging for the people who don't get part of the finish.

  People won't come if nobody goes. While it may not be worthwhile to do the raids, developing a habit of actually going there and checking it out whenever it spawns is a good idea.
  
  Sooner or later more and more people will start to come. Otherwise it'll forever be stuck in this vicious cycle of "nobody goes, why should I go".

  More than anything, I think it's just fun to grab some friends and go slay some dragons. 'Fun' of course being relative in terms of Mabinogi standards.

  I know Mari does Desert Dragon, but the Ruari and Tarlach servers just sit there and stare into space all day, I've managed to help my friend whom is 378 total, get 4k contribution on desert dragon with a fully upgrade Lich Spike Glory Sword just by using smash, and mages with a fully upgraded cc4 fire wand can hit that 4k contribution easily if the dragon isn't dying in 30 seconds. There is no excuse for other servers to be complaining about their economy when they let all these gold bags and drops go to waste.

  Ruairi kills its dragons pretty quickly. Most of the time I can't even use the 2h swords that the dragons drop because I won't get 4k contribution.

  Pretty much the same rate I make gold from BFT2, without having to wait for a dragon to spawn, or deal with people that don't know how to fight one easily.
