Title, what are your thoughts on alchemy and alchemists since Vate came out?
I feel like they're more of a class now then they have ever been, I ran missions with the vate skills, and my god, I actually had fun with the new gadgets we were given.
Even though alchemy still needs a few tweaks, such as changing how the masteries effect skills and giving a indirect buff to Heat Buster, I think it's a pretty solid set now.
Sidenote: Abyss Cylinder's R-type has been fixed!

I think it's really good now. I actually felt fairly weak in elites or anything higher even though I'm probably one of the stronger flame bursters on our server. Now after they added ele wave I have a lot more utility with frozen blast and shock, as well as having huge damage boosts with ele wave heat buster which is AMAZING. Hydra seems really situational but I think it can be OP in certain situations with that master title.

Still not enough for me to spend AP on. Also B> perfect skill reset for shock.
Edit: As a primary skillset that is. As a support skillset alch has it's good uses.

It feels solid now. Heatbuster just needs a more indirect way to cut into defences. Hitting 30k Heatbusters on a low level Dopple is not far from the truth. Since its 3x Hit Heatbuster. Though i didnt screenshot that damage. We just need a way to allow it to cut through defences. at Abyss and Elite Dungeons, Flameburst is more adaquet unless you crit with Heatbuster.

Alch is still so AP heavy though. You have to rank all those alchemy skills as well as maxing hp/mp/stam/ AND CRIT. Heat buster is so useless if it doesnt crit. Cylinders basically have 0 base crit too...

Personally, I found it underwhelming. Note that I am least of all an alchemist, which is why I think the guard cylinder appealed to me. I'm not sure why I expected the guard cylinder to be a great hybrid weapon, but it really doesn't seem to be. Seeing as it has no elemental bonuses, a straight 10% deduction, and can't use any of the new skills, I'm really not finding much use for it. As a human, I can only realistically use it with either my ice savage blaze wand or my fire wand ego. So far I've just ranked Rain Casting for alchemy use, and I think I might give shock or sand blast a try. Other than that, I'm really at a loss for why I would wand + guard shield.

I did a few tests with r1 Hydra.
I believe that extra Clay almost barely increases attack interval:
12 attack waves with a Cylinder
13 waves with an Earthquake Cylinder
Either I counted wrong or that is some interesting shit there.

I enjoy the guard cylinder more than anything! It's nice to have synergistic weapons and I'm always welcome to having more of them in the game.

Run around in GoP HM with just rank F water canon hiting 3-4k crits and 7-8k in falcon is silly!! xD i had so much fun and using awand and cylinder is epic fun!! shcok and suck their lives; its basically ur game. Maybe is not super fast or cant clean a room in 1 sec like my puppets but for sure is better than my archery

Serious answer: I genuinely like this update, I was excited for the last alchemy changes but this is making me really glad I stuck with alchemy. I don't have to risk the game freezing for 3 seconds when I want my golem to distract something, Frozen blast is reliable, and hydras give me some good extra AoE damage. Golem AIs need a bit of a tweak but overall I am satisfied.

The guard cylinder is a nice addition to my arsenal as a total level 700 Close Combat/Fighter Human. Utility skills at rF like SB, LD, and WB hit harder than rF bolt magic for me, even with the 25% damage penalty. Having used shields strictly for Charge before the update, it's nice to have the off-hand slot used for more than one skill since dual wielding had to be sacrificed until I can buy a shieldless Charge reforged hat.

Considering that my friend now does 10k flame burst crits. It seems pretty good.
