  Very few do. I couldn't get an internship until my third year, and I looked at and applied to pretty much any internship I had even the slightest chance of being accepted for.

  I would look for internships but apply to coop. At my friend's college, coop is automatically guaranteed upon entry, it's mandatory and you can begin as early as first year. But it really depends where/what field you go into.

  There may only be a few, but they exist. Regardless of whether OP can get a suitable internship or job in his freshman or sophomore year, he needs to start planning for how to get into the internships or jobs that will be relevant towards his career, since the end goal is a job. Some of them have pretty specific requirements, so OP will already need to start working on them once he gets into a college. Getting familiar with job websites and the application process, learning how to write a resume and cover letter, and talking to advisors about job opportunities, is a start.

  I am sure they do exist, i just have no knowledge of it, i know my school promised everyone who went into engineering an internship at Johnson Controls corporate headquarters here if their grades were adequate.
