I'll be honest, I hate the Durability/Repair System

  I agree with the fact that the repair system success rate drops off dramatically. But don't nessisarly think it needs to be removed, perhaps redone. Make the repairs in the hands of the player. You play as an almighty god defeating warrior(or Mage or archer or alchemist) some all four! So why give ur weapon to and npc. Perhaps let the player be in control of it. Let the player mend the weapon. Now I have no clue how this would be done. But it would take away complaining that he broke it. It would be you instead. Maybe a mini game or something.
  
  Perhaps inject a bit of realism. Not so much as to where a ogre warrior hits ur dinky wooden shield an it explodes. But make it so weapons are more sturdy but become dull. Like a sword would have more base dura. But would also dull and lose dmg as well. And make it so wet stones can be carried with the player to mend the dullness

  For something like control bars its fine, since they lose dura so slowly. But for a human using range having 4 durability on a bow isn't even enough for one run (as I've been told, I wouldn't know first-hand since I'm an elf).

  I also use an ego Ring Bow (which I never bless), 4 is definitely enough to several complete rounds of MA.

  This is the reason why I have an ego wand... Not the bandwagon firebolt kind though cause I don't really care for that play style. At least my wand will never die cause of failed repairs.

  I had/have 2 dual battle swords and an earthquake cylinder that i used for 5k levels. That's 50 or so weeks. That's an an absurd amount of Stones of Sliab Cuilin. They are still at good durability even though alchemy boy liked to knock off dura. for a cylinder i solely abused golem with, it is left at 7 max dura. Keep in mind, it was THE cylinder to end all cylinders, 7 dura's enough for 1-2 days of full on cuilin spam, and my battle swords remain at remarkable condition, used until they were outdated by puppets, meaning from G14 onwards, they went from whatever wine making dura ones were, to a respectable 6ish dura.
  
  I have never repair protected a single thing, nor will i ever. And everytime i see people burn through protects, i ask why. Buy a damn platinum hammer, it's cheaper. Especially if it's only 1m, that's what, 5-7k nx?

  Bar durability is burned more than you would think.

  I agree that the durability system has issues, especially for elves with bows and other such cases that burn durability extra-fast, gathering tools, etc. If all base durability losses were that of normal melee then the rate of durability loss would be more bearable all-around as, as stated by others, most runs will only use a few points.
  
  The loss of max dur on a fail is intended to make items wear out and cause the player to need to replace them after an amount of time, which keeps things flowing as far as item hunting and the economy are concerned. People obsessed with keeping the same weapon forever are only delaying the inevitable.
  
  That's not to say that I like the system, but trying to play mabi with no durability loss is like trying to play a Mario platformer without using the run button. You're going to have a bad time because the game itself is conspiring against you.
  
  @OP: Stop spending money if you're tired of spending money. Nobody's holding a gun to your head to do it, and thousands of players get by just fine without spending IRL money on repairs.
