WHY is a 12 year old interested in a map for Grand Theft Auto? That game is 18+ and has a lot of reasons why it shouldn't be played by minors.
That's probably the root of it right there- parents not giving proper guidance and allowing kids to play games they are too young to play.

hes been playing GTA games since he was like 4 although back then he was never allowed to do anything but walk around or drive cars h found with none already in them
but i guess his parents eventually just stopped checking to make sure he was doing this and started to play them as most people would play them
and well hes kinda obsessed with the franchise 9 x out of 10 thats what he will talk about

Everyone is different and everyone needs to be disciplined differently. There is no "1 size fits all" disciplinary solution.
Also everyone is a kid until they are at least 18. And i never even bothered with women until i was 20.

People treating "kids" like precious little snowflakes that have no control over their actions is one of the biggest reasons why some kids turn into horrible adults.
Contrary to very misinformed belief, plenty of kids (and I'm not just talking about pre-teens here - I mean anyone above the toddler stage) know exactly what they're doing. Is it their fault they usually have shitty parents? No. But that still doesn't change the fact that they can do messed up crap that's just as bad as what some adults do.
Instead of trying to coddle and excuse shitty behavior, people need to start properly reprimanding kids. Otherwise, all you're doing is teaching them that they can get away with it.
Yeah but kids will really be kids until like 18? Why rob a child of their childhood by beating into the reprimands of an adult at age 6? Yeah bad parenting will let kids get away with anything but some kids do stuff even though its bad but "treating kids like their little snowflakes" is part of having a child.
There's a balance, the problem is kids now are spoiled little shitheads who don't do chores and talk back to their parents and still get whatever they want with little to no punishment

When he doesn't get his way he will break shit and hit you and scream "NO TI QUIERO" (I don't love you anymore) over and over again
He gets ZERO punishment and his step father buys him anything he wants in the store, even if he can't use or need it. I've seen him pull a fit it walmart over a bottle of antifreeze and he bought it for him

0 punishment I agree with is total shit. What they did is obviously fucking stupid and he will turn into a rampaging child. I just dont think that what splats cousin did was completely like this because hes obsessed with GTA and only twelve he wanted it so he took it. Kids do that shit but if it were to happen again and not even got yelled at than fuck that I agree with you. I just dont agree with beating a child, spanking or anything else, because violence turns into more violence. AKA that kid will do the same to others since he thinks its okay. I didnt get beat as a child and I turned out fine, I don't steal or do anything immoral.
That's why teenagers and kids are such giant shitheads nowadays, because parents are all scared to properly punish their child because they might get accused of "beating" them. When in reality there is a VERY clear line between spanking and beating that anyone with a brain can see.
I don't believe spanking is an effective form of punishment.
It only teaches your child to be violent, and afraid of you.
They don't learn to "respect" you, they learn fear you.
Some grow out of it, others do not.
If you can only teach your child from hitting them, you're a shitty parent.
People saying sending a child to their room is ineffective.
And they're right, in a sense, because I would say most parents who use this technique and fail have all sorts of shit in their child's room that they can play with which doesn't seem like punishment to me.
I used to be in a facility, where they could not spank you because they weren't your parents.
But we had this thing called the 24 hour program
if you did something wrong, you got sent to your room which had nothing in it but a bed and a desk
you are required to stay in that room, without a peep for 24 hours, if you poked your head out the door it started all over again.
oh, but wait, there's more, you were also required to write 2 - 5 essays (depending on what you did) on whatever subjects your couselor picked for you.
If you didn't finish the essays, you weren't allowed to come out until after they were done.
You were fed 3 meals a day, with a snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner along with a fruit after dinner.
if it wasn't the summer time, you would go to school but as soon as you got back you were to back to your room and time spent at school didn't count to the time in your room.
Now, at my age, that doesn't sound too bad at all, but to a child, this was the most boring "cruel" punishment out there
and the kids (including me) who got in trouble, didn't get in trouble again.
I plan on doing this with my children.
They will not having toys in their room, they will have a play room for their toys and games, their room will have nothing more than a bed and desk.
Who knew I'd learn how to punish a child at age 12.
I think it's the parents choice, but spanking is so unnecessary
