I think this is an important message everyone needs to know.
Why people bully?
People bully for a reason. Maybe something bad is happening to them. Abuse, being bullied, someone died, etc. They do this to make themself feel "strong" or make themself feel better
What happens someone is being bullied?
They start having depression daily. They start to self harm like not eating, cutting their skin, etc. Or worse, killing theirself. It won't happen all the time, but it can happen.
How can you stop bullying?
Well really, there no way to stop bullying worldwide, but you can stop a bully bullying you. Tell a trusted adult about this. A teacher, parent, etc. You can also ignore it (pretty easy if it's cyber bullying) or stand up for yourself.
Has SparkleFountain been bullied and become depressed?
Yes, I was cyber-bullied. I started falling to depression then started cutting. I'm still in depression today, but the last time I cut was 5-6 months ago.

You forgot the part about how some people just bully because they are dicks and don't have a reason.
Also not everyone reacts to bullying like that. Many people who get bullied ignore it and go on to lead successful lives without ever being depressed or cutting.
Telling someone accomplishes nothing. If you tell a teacher or "trusted adult" the worst the bully will get is a slap on the wrist, maybe a detention and then they will be right back to harassing you, perhaps even worse than before because you opened your mouth. The only way to get rid of a bully is to take care of it yourself of ignore it until they get bored.
As far as cyber bullying goes

I will add "speaking up" and "ignore it" to the list.

I don't remember being bullied... I think I bullied someone though, he was a friend in middle school, and his grade was just terrible, my parents don't want me to play with him caz bad influence and such, so I tried to encourage him to do better in school, but he just likes to slack off and do nothing, eventually I got frustrated and said some really mean things to him.

I was bullied. My solution to the problem? Be massively violent.
Speaking up did nothing, teachers mocked me and blamed me.
Going to the principal made it worse.
Going to my parents made it even worse, everyone ended up blaming me.
But when i was violent. Almost got expelled, but people backed off.
Sad sad tale.

I used to be bullied a lot in primary school, being half deaf and half blind + the fact that kids are fucking assholes =/= a good time.
But I found the best thing for me to do, was just hang around with others with the same interests as me, bullies are either cowards or just dickheads as pirate dude up there said, and won't bother a largish group.
Last year I realised that I was being a particularly big asshat to this one guy, I've spent the last year just trying to make up with him because I felt so bad, and now we're pretty good friends.
But if it does get to an extremely severe level, constant harassment, verbal and physical abuse, it is best to simply call the police, not a teacher, maybe your parents, because there is only so much that they can do, or in my case, tell me to "toughen up"

When I was bullied as a child, I cried. When my friends were bullied, there was no place on hell or earth to hide from my wrath. (Funny how the teachers would tell me that I had to deal with it myself, and never did a God-damned thing...) Bullying is pathetic, and it harms the recipient as much as the bully them-self. I don't know why you just decided to bring this up out of the blue, but there's my two cents.

Seriously, were all of you guys bullied? Was there a bully shortage when I was in school? Or is it just Canadian school has very tame bullies?

This seems more like a result of being weak minded.

Teachers didn't really do anything about bullying here when I was in highschool.
The only exception is if the bullies were doing stuff that disrupted the class, but they treated that like any other disruption and often the victim got in trouble too for being part of it (teachers thinking they were talking together or something).
The only solution was a good old fashioned ass kicking.

I'm in canada and I was bullied during middleschool and high school.
Through half way into highschool, I learned Kusari-Jutsu and started to talk around school with a 1 meter long metal chain. The bullies back off. Either they were scared by the sight of the chain, or just my confidence I could beat them to death if I wanted.. They never bothered me ever again, one of them even ran away anytime he saw me, guess he had a guilty concience
