  I wouldn't blame you, I believe the none support ones purely for aesthetics have a similar look Belisha and others, not to mention much they're cheaper and "common"

  As jim mentioned if you activate it but unequip it you will not benefit from the effects, so you're just wasting summon time there doing nothing so yes you will need it equipped if you want to see the orbs and mobs on the map.

  I've done a few tests myself and so far
  the Thunderbolt can deal about 2k or so damage but it has a cooldown I forgot to note how long... I'll see later.

  Finally got one, just happened to have someone on party ad that sold it to me cheap.
  
  10 minute cooldown, basically does a shockwave.
  Also it tells which orbs to hit in SM/Dungeons to open doors.

  if you just got it within like an hour or so, it was probably the same one I saw xD I had to go before I could counter-bid but grats! Does the attack do a lot of damage or is it just for play?

  Not necessarily. The inconvenience of needing that pet out instead of a mount outweighs all possible benefits of map reveal. Isn't the range on those also limited?
  
  It's all pretty minor though. The amount of missions or even dungeons where reveal would be significant can be counted on one hand.

  I have the Odd Eye Belisha Support and I have the function activated but I'm not seeing the puppet tell me which orb opens the door. How do you activate that ability?

  As you can see from the screenshot I'm not seeing anything that specifically tells me which orb is the correct one. I also see no new skill in my skill window or any new action outside of Out of the Blue. So either the description is wrong and we're drawing assumptions, or I'm missing something.

  Hadn't tested it out yet but according to wiki
  
  "Reveals the switch that opens doors in Orb-based Rooms inside Dungeons. " I guess it doesn't work in SMs

  Well I think the wiki didn't actually test it out properly or it's bugged and simply pulled it from the description which may be incorrect.
  
  Oh well, not the end of the world, it just bothers me it lists a function that doesn't even work.

  It may be a bug. Someone mentioned it in the bugs and glitches forum and I submitted my findings to it. Dealer is making wild assumptions though which is really irritating.
