  That will still reduce your other skillsets' damage since you won't be able to wear accessories.
  No point in wearing heavy armor if you don't have the mastery ranked.
  
  And for a melee user, you really should be using a lance. No balance added from masteries, you'll need some sort of dex to reach the 80 balance.

  For fighter too, heavy armor penalizes the finisher moves.

  No. Thames set is the only heavy armor set a player should use (besides RK set for defense, which is negligible).
  
  Unless you're planning on ditching it, don't trade it for something. I still use my thames set from time to time, although the more I level, the less I use that set.
