  Also if you think you can run this because you laptop can run the non-HD DS emulator and can play PS1/PS2 games you're wrong. You're going to need a nice setup.

  Depends on how good your processor is. Games like skyrim taxes your graphic card but for emulator, all the works are being done by your CPU. I have a decent graphic card so I can run skyrim also but my DS emulator lags because my CPU is crap..

  You can check its speed. The speed is measured in GHz. Your windows hardware manager should tell you about it. You will want more than 3.0 GHz. Mine is 2.5 Quadcore, which isn't great but it has turbo core tech that can overclock the speed when need to I suppose.

  I can't run PS2 games. Those need a beefy PC. o.o

  Speed doesn't even matter that much, it's architecture.
  
  I have a FX-6300 which runs 3.5 GHz, that doesn't mean it's better than the i5-4670k which is 3.4 GHz.

  Basically the game speed slowed down. Not so much lag, as literally running at a slower speed.

  Do you even know what you're talking about? While you are somewhat correct that emulators need a good processor, but saying processor is the only important thing is just wrong.
  1) - You don't need a good processor to play every game on a emulator. It all depends on how what the game demands from the emulator. The ArTonelico, Aterlier, Disgaea games, and other 2D games like Phantom Brave can run any computer made in the last 5 years, and no matter what way you look at it graphics cards are essential. You still need a strong graphics card to run emulators especially if want to upscale them and/or use AF.
  
  2) - This goes PC games as well. Games like the Total War, Civilization, Arma, and StarCraft games where enemy AI is dynamic and the map are huge with physics are processor intenseive. You said you can run Skyrim, Skyrim isn't even a graphics intensive game. I'm running the game on a 8 year old 512MB (Tesla based) graphics card at 1080p on almost max settings.

  My computer can't run Xenoblade at 1080p and can't even handle anything beyond 2X resolution DeSuME X432R.
  Can't wait for that GPU upgrade by the end of the month, 2GB is going to be such an amazing upgrade from 512MB. ; o ; Might even get a 4GB card

  Do you know what HD is? It's just a standard of resolution, not graphics.
