  I think that was more along the lines of "if they are able to utilize elemental reforges, it would cap out at 3"

  Has there been any information on the upgrade paths for Shuriken, yeah? Sure the Akatsuki Shuriken has a range of 30~80 but it's not overgradeable, yeah. How would that compare to the smithable/buyable shuriken that, at most, reach 28 Max at base stats, while also only utilizing 1Handed overgrades, yeah? I'm sure you [Jake] also mentioned a friend said they use 1H overgrades, yeah. Just to confirm my claims, yeah.

  Oooh, those durability hits look painful, yeah. Base Durability of 10, you're gonna see a 4 Durability Shuriken at worst (Though, the probably anyone would take that path is unrealistic, yeah).
  
  Hmm, if you take the full Temper Blade path and take the Gem Repair, it'll finish at 7 Durability, yeah. However, taking the Artisan last and picking the Gem Repair will result in no Durability loss, yeah.
  Hrmm. Overall, just taking from what we already know, at most the Shuriken will just get an extra 15 Max which is a bit insignificant, pretty much 43 Max on the Anzu Shuriken, yeah.
  I guess the artisan will likely be the defining factor, yeah. Once we find out what it is, that is, yeah.
  
  One more thing, was it ever mentioned if the Akatsuki Shuriken was upgradable, yeah?

  Nope sorry. Akatsuki Shuriken is the only one that cannot be upgraded or enchanted. The other three can be upgraded, enchanted, and gem upgraded (unsure about artisan), but only the blacksmithed ones can be special upgraded. On another note, all four can be reforged.
