I freaking love this right now.
Most people: OH MY GAWD NINJA! YA!!! WANT! OMG SO CEWL! WEEE!!!
*Learns all the info on it* This skill set SUCKS because it looks like you can't WRECK the game with it! So freaking lame! Urg. It's just more stats.
*Had it been a pure game wrecking skill set* Another OP skill set like puppets? Do we seriously need more ways to stomp the content? Urg. At least it's more stats I guess.
Ahhh, not to sound rude but..just because a skill set is powerful doesn't mean its automatically fun.
I personally find Puppeteer boring when compared to Gunner.Despite Puppets (Gunner varies depending on stats..[S]and surviving the training[/S] ) can be near game breaking,I still prefer Gunner because it has fun and fluent game play that is very adjustable with Melee when preforming combos.Anyways,Ninja.. Its just a slow paced Gunner, with Meh debuffs, that's all. Hopefully Nexon changes that as well in the future.

I think what should be argued is how fun the skillset is to use. Personally, I find Puppetry very slow and immobile, not a very fun skillset in my eyes. Now compared to ninja: Practical, maybe. Stronger, probably not. More fun, definitely.
I completely agree with Kapra on this one, I feel puppet is rather clunky as well, too much mob getting up too soon after crisis hitting you and canceling act 7, and outside mobs canceling it with normals and the puppet gets mobbed by the previously crisis'd pile, the movement feels awkward+it slows elves/giants to human speed while control is active, and most importantly any spike of latency and the puppet simply doesn't summon on time and there's no real way to do anything to fix the 9002 mobs aggro'd and hitting you and the puppet making you fly off of the map client sided despite that not happening server side so you continue to get shot 100 times with mag while you try and figure out where your character is actually at.
Ninja looks a lot smoother and more reliable (skills actually have their intended functions and don't randomly break when you need them the most), maybe not as much so as alchemy (aka flame burst) since the norms seem to come into play a lot but have funky stun/knockback, but it's definitely faster damage output as a tradeoff, and best of all, no gigantic damage penalty for wearing heavy armor like puppet gets playing an elf. Even if it's not overpowered auto 1 shot, kunai rush, I believe thats the name of the 400% aoe skill, looks like it would play well with shooting rush. I find mobs in battle for tail 2 for example don't like to die to a single shooting rush non-crit but bullet storm is still on cooldown between spawns, so having kunai rush I feel would eliminate the need to use puppets in that mission for me while being faster and less costly in repairs than running it with thunder+cc firebolt.
Tl;dr: I think ninja will be more enjoyable and not aggravating to use due to bugs like puppet.

I also cannot stand Puppets. I never did like the Puppetry skillset and refuse to use it. Gunner on the other hand I've always found fun as it's fast and fluid. If Ninja is just as fast and fluid I'll probably have as much fun playing it as I do with gunner.

OP or not, with my stats, anything is OP.
Even my fists are OP.

Most of the ninja skills kinda sucks from what I've seen.
The AoE throwing kunai skills and Sakura Shower basically one of the few good skills for Ninja, but then... Sakura is bit useless because of 20 minutes cooldown.

I think there's something seriously wrong with the majority of you, rofl.
Main thing I can say if you're disappointed with ninja damage.. stop watching the one video in this thread~ that person has nothing r1, guaranteed.
Damage aside though, ninja seems to have something to use in any situation, if you combine it with melee, which~ since you use str and all, is very doable haha.
Plus I'll just throw this out there.. with good stats and medicore gear, rasenzan is easily capable of 15k damage(granted the claims of a 2.33x multiplier at full charge are accurate), and that's without reforges. How many skillsets can really say that? Just gunner basically, yeah? And that's an 800% damage skill rofl. (And before some certain people pop in, no~ thames and perfectly enchanted lances and etc. don't count as "mediocre")
All that aside. It looks freaking fun as hell. That's what I most look forward to with this. Something to help me enjoy the game again basically, instead of treating it like a job or a nuisance when something doesn't go right.
But hey I like my ideals to be unique as well, so less of you being ninja out there, the better for me. 83

I'm just more disappointed that the Ninja talent would be str/will-based. Throwing Kunai and Sakura Shower is a good skill, and I remember seeing a video of someone doing a heavy damage with Throwing Kunai aoe.

I feel more like we've just been spoiled by all the way different ways DevCat made possible to get Max Damage or just do high numbers in general. It's gotten to a point where we seem to disregard creativity and just look at it from how much damage it can do before we judge it. One-shotting, two-shotting, three-shotting has been ingrained in our minds and, sadly, closed them. Ninja has many applications, come on people. (Though, I don't know what to say about Oboro Enmaku. -20 Def? What's that gonna do?)
Here's an example. Daichi Jin sets a horizontal line of traps, yes? At Rank 1 it places 5. Now what can we do with this? Monsters will always converge onto your position once you provoke them, with exceptions of course.
Shooting Rush > Daichi Jin (shoot the mobs if you want to make them want to run towards you) > Bullet Storm > Midari Kunai > Kage Shibari > Lullaby/Cloud > Sakura Shigure 6-10 charges
I can't really confirm more combos since I don't know how each skill's mechanics work. Like... Does Kage Shibari go away if you unequipped the Shuriken?
If not, while Kage Shibari is in effect, you could switch back to guns and activate Frenzy and spam the bound mobs. There's more to skills than damage, y'know.

I agree it looks fun, and I could never get used to the slowness that is puppets. >.<
With my playstyle, I am definitely suited to faster paced combat, like melee and gunner... but I don't have the stats, money, or mp for gunner(but the speed is fun), so I am hoping ninja will be able to get me out of being a melee-exclusive character. XD

I did fighter and then I nearly capped str 8D I've been set up for this for ages.
On another note.. were the details about talent level stats ever shown here?

The whole talent is pretty bugged right now. DevCat doesn't know how to fix the missing issue.
Two-handed weapons that receive one-handed special upgrades and reforges. Meh.
Charging Shuriken
- Highly damaging smash variant
- Occasionally misses or hits several seconds late
Shadow Assault
- 51 cooldown w/3 second duration; knocks targets back 1200 units
- Wind Blast/Hide combination, useful when it's available...which it rarely is
Ground Snare
- Beats out Shooting Rush for "glitchiest skill ever"
- Potentially useful against large bosses
- Appropriate damage/cooldown
- OP reforge
Kunai Rush
- Most important ninja skill
- Stronger windmill w/reduced AOE and longer cooldown
Hazy Smokescreen
- Worthless
- Proves DevCat either has zero fucking idea what's up OR that ninja is meant for the weakest of beginners, despite depending on two stats...see point 1
Shadow Bind
- Potentially useful; limited target count and duration hurts
- Super OP reforge
Sakura Shower
- 20 min cooldown
- Meteor Strike tier

It's right on this site that Jake provided

Table above the Skills table.

Make it so elves are better with the skills in term of multiplier and other stuffs, after fixing those glitches, and we're good to go. :D

This would be a great opportunity for DevCat to askew a talent akin to martial arts, only in favor of elves.
Flat damage multipliers (20% Giant, 30% Human, 40% Elf) and heavy armor damage reduction would do the trick.
